Music festival in West Cumbria cancelled due to low ticket sales

Organisers of 'Mont Fest', in Egremont, have been forced to cancel the event due to low ticket sales. The festival, which was set to take place on June 7, was set to have headlining performances from DJ Ratman and the Whitehaven band, the Northern Threads. A spokesperson on behalf of the 'Mont Fest' management committee issued a statement regarding the cancellation. This decision wasn't made lightly, as our dedicated team of volunteers poured their hearts and souls into planning this event. 'We understand how much 'Mont Fest' means to our community, and it's truly disheartening to have to take this step. Unfortunately, without the necessary support, we can't go ahead with the event. 'Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders, and we appreciate your patience during this process. Thank you to everyone who showed interest and support. We're determined to learn from this experience and hope to come back stronger in the future!' The festival, which was set-up after the Covid-19 pandemic, was organised by Egremont Rangers who ran the first Mont Fest in 2021. It was hugely popular and saw over 450 people attend. A member of 'Mont Fest' management committee Chloe Ann Pascoe said: 'I'm really gutted we have had to cancel 'Mont Fest'. It's frustrating to see all the hard work go to waste, but unfortunately, we just didn't receive the support we needed. Thank you to everyone who was involved. 'Once again on behalf of the Management committee we would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and reiterate both our heartbreak and disappointment in having to deliver this information to you all. 'Whilst also thanking everyone who has supported us. Ultimately it wasn't to be this year but we now regroup and move forwards.'
