The U.S. firms Hill International, OSI/Rapiscan, and Honeywell demonstrated the products and services they have ready to deploy in the development of Terminal 4. The companies, global leaders in emerging technologies that protect safety and security, aim to partner with the Civil Aviation Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority to provide state-of-the-art equipment services for Egypt's growth as a popular tourist destination and a critical hub connecting Europe, Africa, Asia, and the United States. Global Airports Summit 2027 to Be Hosted in Sharm El Sheikh

Announced during the ACI Africa Conference in Tanzania, this will be the first time Egypt hosts the event. May 03, 2025 Egypt has been selected to host the Airports Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly (WAGA) in Sharm El Sheikh in 2027. The announcement, made during the 73rd ACI Africa Conference in Tanzania, marks the first time Egypt will welcome the summit. WAGA 2027 will convene over 1,000 airport executives, policymakers, and innovators from ACI's five global regions to discuss strategies for operational efficiency, sustainability, and digital transformation. The event includes technical forums, an exhibition of cutting-edge aviation tech, and networking opportunities. Previous editions were held in Marrakesh (2022), Barcelona (2023), and Riyadh (2024), with Toronto set for 2025. The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, led by CEO Eng. Ayman Fawzy Arab, signed the hosting agreement with ACI World. Egypt's delegation also participated in key ACI Africa meetings, addressing challenges like climate resilience and passenger experience.

Feb 07, 2025 In January 2025, Cairo International Airport experienced an increase in air traffic with nearly 2.6 million passengers, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Ayman Fawzy Arab. The number of combined domestic and international flights also grew by 7% compared to last year, adding up to a total 18,450 flights in January. The Egyptian Holding Company also reports that Cairo Airport is expected to see another increase during the near future, likely due to passengers flying for Umrah during the months of Ramadan and Shaaban.

Vessel - file CAIRO - 30 January 2025: The National Air Navigation Services Company received a high-level delegation including representatives from EgyptAir Training Academy, the Libyan Navigation Services Provider, and the Libyan Sky Wings Academy for Aviation Sciences, at the headquarters of the Cairo Air Navigation Center. This visit came within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation to train Libyan air traffic control officers, within the activation of the partnership protocol with EgyptAir Training Academy. The events included a visual presentation that addressed the various activities of the National Air Navigation Services Company and its achievements in the field of specialized training at the local and regional levels. The cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD) to train African cadres in the field of air navigation was also highlighted. In light of the directives of Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, to enhance cooperation at the local, regional and international levels and exchange expertise in various civil aviation activities, and in accordance with the vision of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, under the direction of Engineer Ayman Fawzy Arab, to train cadres from African countries and sister countries in all fields, especially in the field of navigation. The visit included a tour of the air traffic control training simulator at the Cairo Air Navigation Center (TBS) to view the available technical and technological capabilities. The two sides also discussed the executive procedures for air traffic circulation and mechanisms for operational linkage between the Egyptian and Libyan airspaces, with the aim of improving air traffic management between the two countries. In this context, Engineer Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, stated that this step comes within the framework of the company's plan to support African brothers in the fields of air navigation and airports, which contributes to improving the efficiency of air traffic circulation between Egypt and Libya during the coming period.
