Former Saskatoon city bus driver charged with hit and run
A former Saskatoon Transit driver is facing a hit-and-run charge after allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving a city bus on May 18. The 49-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck in the 1900 block of Eighth Street East, according to a police news release. Police say the driver fled the scene in the bus. After months of investigation, the 42-year-old driver has been charged with failing to stop after an accident. Saskatoon Transit said in a statement that the employee was put on administrative leave shortly after the incident pending an internal investigation and no longer works for the bus service.
