Telangana State Formation Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan
Vijayawada: Governor S Abdul Nazeer was the chief guest at 11th Telangana State Formation Day celebrations held at Durbar Hall at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, organised under 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said Hyderabad city, the capital city of Telangana is popularly known as 'Pearl City' and the State has been for a long time, a meeting place of diverse languages and culture and the best example of India's composite culture, pluralism and inclusiveness. He said the region is well-known for its Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb and the State's capital city - Hyderabad is often called a 'miniature India' and it is an important cultural hub of the Indian sub-continent. The Governor said celebration of occasions like the Telangana Formation Day, brings people of different States together and gives us an opportunity to know each other in a better perspective and the 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' programme aims to forge a strong relationship and bonding among all the people of the country, and promote mutual understanding between different States and Union Territories, through the concept of oneness. The programme commenced with a video message of Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, followed by rendering of a melodious fusion song by Jai Sai Vaishnavi, traditional Telangana dance performance by Padma Priya, Divya Rani, Bindu Madhavi, Roja, Prathiba and Madhavi Reddy. Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, Secretary to Governor, officials and staff members of Raj Bhavan, students from Telangana State studying in educational institutions in and around Vijayawada, attended the programme.

Goa Statehood Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan
Vijayawada: Governor S Abdul Nazeer was the chief guest at the 39th Goa Statehood Dy celebrations organised under 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' programme at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said Goa is called the 'Pearl of the Orient' for its splendid natural beauty and is well known for its vibrant culture, breathtaking beaches and hospitable people. He said even though Goa is the smallest State in India by area, its contributions to India's cultural and economic landscape are immense and it has made its mark on the global stage with its flourishing tourism, high literacy, rich biodiversity, and inclusive governance. The Governor said it is important to strengthen people-to-people connection and nation-building through a common vision of cultural exchange between people from different regions and continue to share the unbreakable bond of 'One Nation One People.' The programme commenced with a video message from PS Sridharan Pillai, Governor of Goa, followed by key board performance by Gopika Vaishnavi and Goa folk dance performance by Y Kavya, D Jayasree, P Mallika, R Sai Lakshmi, M Hasini and G Naga Durga. Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, Secretary to Governor, officials and staff members of Raj Bhavan, students from Goa state studying in educational institutions in and around Vijayawada, attended the programme.

Raj Bhavan celebrates Guj, Maha Formation Day
Vijayawada: Gujarat and Maharashtra Formation Day celebrations were held in Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan here on Friday in presence of Governor S Abdul Nazeer at the, under 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the people of Gujarat actively participated in the country's freedom movement and made significant contribution to India's freedom struggle. He said that Maharashtra gave us many prominent freedom fighters and social reformers like Vinoba Bhave, Dr BR Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Nanaji Deshmukh and others. After formation of separate States, both Gujarat and Maharashtra have prospered immensely and achieved tremendous progress, while contributing to the country's economic development to a large extent, said the Governor. He said the 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' programme aims at enhancing interaction and promote mutual understanding between people of different States and Union Territories through the concept of 'One Nation One People.' Earlier, video messages of Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat and Governor of Maharashtra CP Radhakrishnan were played. Dr JM Bhagwat of School of Planning and Architecture, Deepak Desai, president of Sri Vijayawada Gujarati Samaj and N Tanisha of Vijayawada Maratha Mandal spoke on the occasion, followed by a patriotic song sung by Navin Patel and a Garba dance performance by Hansaben Patel and group. Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, Secretary to Governor and officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan, students of Gujarat and Maharashtra studying in various educational institutions in and around Vijayawada were present.
