When Kishore Kumar turned dialogue into song: Sanjay Dutt recalls his father's friendship with the music legend

The versatile actor once shared a fond moment about the legendary friendship between his father, , and iconic singer-actor during the making of the classic film 'Padosan.' Recently a video of 'The Raja Saab' actor from his appearance on the reality show 'Indian Idol' surfaced on social media again. "There was such a deep friendship where they used to call each other Guru and Bhola," he recalled, adding, "They even started learning music together. It just happened so organically. They would come to the sets, discuss the scenes, and shoot—everything had a certain flow to it. There used to be so much improvisation; it was madness on set. " Sanjay also shared a memorable incident from the sets of 'Padosan.' He said, "Dada came, he read the scene, and he told my father, 'Pack up.'" My father was like, 'Pack up? Oh my God!' Kishore Kumar left after that and told him, 'We'll meet tomorrow morning.' That night, he went and recorded a song. The next day, he came back and said, "These won't be dialogues anymore—this will be a song in the film." It is believed that the song he was referring to is the iconic 'Ek Chatur Naar Karke Sringar'. Some of the key songs sung by Kishore Kumar in the movie include 'Mere Samne Wali Khidki Mein,' 'Kehna Hai Kehna Hai,' and 'Mere Bhole Balam'. These songs were composed by R.D. Burman with lyrics by Rajendra Krishan. Sanjay Dutt was recently seen in the grand cast comedy thriller 'Housefull 5,' released on June 6. The film features Akshay Kumar, with Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and many others. He will be seen in upcoming films including 'Baaghi 4,' 'Welcome to the Jungle,' and the Prabhas starrer 'The Raja Saab.'
