Kodagu students celebrate raksha bandhan with President Draupadi Murmu
MADIKERI: The rare moment of celebrating
Raksha Bandhan
with the country's first citizen, the President, was enjoyed by the students of Ekalavya School in Kodagu.
The students of Ekalavya Model Residential School in Balugodu met President
Draupadi Murmu
and celebrated Raksha Bandhan.
The Rashtriya Raksha Bandhan programme organised by the National Tribal Students' Educational Sindhu Institute in Delhi was attended by the tribal community residential schools of Raichuru, Belagavi, Kolar, and Kodagu districts from the state. Draupadi Murmu has a special feature of celebrating Raksha Bandhan with those serving in different sectors every year, and accordingly, this year she wanted to celebrate it with students from the tribal community.
Following her decision, students of Balugodu Ekalavya Model Residential School, led by Komal Gupta, music teacher, students L.M. Pratiksha, C.L. Kannika, Tanvi Thangamma, H.K. Neha, and K.M. Prakriti participated in it. The President discussed the method, style, progress, infrastructure, and needs of the school's education with the students and teachers.
