Aaron Paul Reveals the Hilarious Prank Bryan Cranston Pulled on Him While Making BREAKING BAD — GeekTyrant

Aaron Paul got his big break on the award-winning fan favorite series Breaking Bad , in which he starred alongside Oscar nominee and Emmy-winner, Bryan Cranston. The pair have remained friends, but Paul remembers a particularly cruel and hilarious prank that Cranston pulled on him while making the series. On a recent appearance on the hot wing talk show Hot Ones, Paul first praised his co-star, saying of Cranston, "He's the hardest worker in the room, the most lovable… but he's also the most immature I've ever met in my life. I say that with just love and respect, the list was endless." He went on, "I remember on Breaking Bad , he came out of the production office and came up to me and said, 'It's OK' and give me this long hug. I'm like, 'What are you doing?' He's like, 'At least you go out in a big way, huh?' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' He goes, 'Did you read the latest script?' I go, 'No.' He goes, 'Well, just read it, and I'm here if you need me.'' Paul continued, "So, I sprinted into the production office… of course, I go to the final pages [of the script] and nothing happened, I'm still around. But he just made it seem like I died. He would not stop. He would get everybody in on it, like the costume designers said, 'Hey we gotta do your measurements for the casket.'" Paul's character Jesse Pinkman got out of the series, not unscathed per se, but alive, and went on to star in the follow-up Netflix film, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie . Breaking Bad is currently streaming on Netflix. via: GamesRadar

Newsweek reached out to Paul's representative via email for comment on Monday. The Context Hot Ones is a chat show that was launched in 2015 and is hosted Sean Evans, who asks celebrity guests questions while they eat chicken wings. With each round, the hot sauce-coated wings get increasingly spicy. Paul, 45, rose to fame as Jesse Pinkman on the AMC series Breaking Bad, which ran for five seasons from 2008 until 2013. He later reprised his role in 2019's El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/Getty Images What To Know On Thursday's episode of Hot Ones, Evans asked Paul if he could name a scene from a movie or television show that he wasn't excited to film. "Sometimes I'll hear actors talk about circling days on the production calendar for scenes that they're dreading doing," Evans said. "I'm wondering when you think about the pages that you looked at that put you into a mental tailspin, does anything immediately come to mind?" "For some reason, I'm always doing roles that are just getting beat up and tortured. You know what I mean? I don't know what that says about me," Paul said, before quickly naming a scene from Breaking Bad. "There's a scene where Jesse wakes up, and his girlfriend, Jane, is dead," the Need for Speed star continued, referring to Jane Margolis, played by actress Krysten Ritter. "I was terrified to shoot that scene. "It was such a chemical romance, but he was just so in it, all in. Really felt very in love but didn't realize that she was just destroying him. I mean, they were destroying themselves together. I was very nervous to tackle that scene, and I didn't know what to do. I didn't really rehearse it, you know? I just knew I had to put myself in that position as that guy. And so, what you saw is what you saw. It was brutal." What People Are Saying Ahead of the interview, First We Feast—the media company behind Hot Ones—announced Paul as a guest via Instagram. In the comments, Krysten Ritter wrote in a message with 347 likes: "Can't WAIT to get the scoop on this." @Wackaz said in a note with more than 10,000 likes: "Aaron Paul is one of those celebs you swear has been on this show before but actually hasn't. He is the perfect candidate for Hot Ones!" @chiefkeefsbabydaddy9945, in a comment with 610 likes: "i love how he talks to the WHOLE room, he's always looking around and speaking to the people on set so they all feel included in the conversation. such a cool dude!" @trillium.3.24, in a comment with 109 likes: "Big props to Aaron for not only the awesome engagement with Sean but turning around and engaging the rest of the people in the studio. All inclusive!! Loved it!" @RIPMalice, in a post with 180 likes: "He's such a wholesome guy I love this episode. The way he said 'I don't want it to be over, Sean!' is pretty much how we all felt when the episode ended. What a champion." NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Northeasterly winds are picking up on the tail end of this past windy storm system in the Northeast Highlands through the East Mountains as easterly gap winds will pick up very soon around the Rio Grande Valley. It's cooling off in northern and western areas with some areas, especially in the higher elevations, starting off in the upper teens or 20s. Most are starting off around freezing or in the 40s, with milder air in Southeast New Mexico in the 50s, with patchy mist possible in East New Mexico. With an upper-level low pressure system moving into the Four Corners later today, combining the easterly winds bringing in more low-level moisture, showers with rumbles of thunder will form for many areas north of I-40. In the higher elevations, mountain-peak wet snow in the San Juan Mountains through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains as temperatures won't get out of the upper 40s or 50s for some, including the Northeast Highlands. Meanwhile, westerly winds will remain out in the western majority of New Mexico with the elevated fire threat as temperatures will range from the 60s to near 80 degrees. Westerly winds merging with easterly winds out in the Permian Basin will lead to the possibility of a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms late today, capable of briefly producing heavy bouts of rain, some hail, lightning, and erratic wind gusts, as temperatures will reach the upper 80s. More moisture in the air will lead to cooler air for most, except for the Rio Grande Valley, which will deal with southerly afternoon winds warming things up in the 60s and 70s. Rain chances will gradually increase for even more areas later this week as southwesterly winds will remain out west, merging with southeasterly winds out east, to form some stronger thunderstorms as well. New Mexico officials ask for input on how to take care of aging population

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico is getting older, poised to have the fourth-oldest population in the country by 2030. The state is getting ready and is sharing its four-year State Aging Plan. 'I look forward to being able to see that the plan really gives us a roadmap to developing those needed services that they deserve,' said Denise King, Aging Network Operations Division Director with the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department. Story continues below Community: NM Dancewear closes its doors for good, leaving hole in dance community Food: Los Ranchos restaurant named best spot for brunch in the state by Yelp Crime: ABQ woman frustrated, two vehicles stolen from hospital parking lot days apart Film: Do you recognize these 'El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie' filming locations? The plan's three goals include expanding services to the elderly and caregivers, responding to social determinants of health by giving opportunities for community engagement and nutritional support, and reducing occurrences of abuse. ALTSD said right now, some of the biggest needs for the elderly include transportation and access to legal services, as scams target the elderly population. While the state pays for most services, it is monitoring the federal funding for the Older Americans Act. So far, they have not been notified of any federal funding changes. 'Obviously, the climate is very concerning right now, and it is changing every week, and so we are keeping a close eye on what that looks like,' said King. ALTSD is now looking for comments on its plan before it goes to the feds for approval in June. They want everyone's input from elders and caregivers, to local partners like cities and counties. The state hopes the plan meets the needs of our most senior community members. 'They've really made us the state that we are. So, we always look at them for their input and their rich stories that they have to tell about what they've been through and what they need,' said King. People can learn more about the plan and give input here. The deadline to give input is May 15. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Fire destroys multiple homes in Grants overnight

GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – Some families in Grants do not have a home Monday night after a wind-fueled wildfire tore through their neighborhood Sunday night. The police said the fire spread in nearly ten minutes and left residents with almost no time to get out. One family who spoke to KRQE News 13 said they're now dealing with the heartbreak of seeing what's left of their home. 'Awful, it was awful, it was a nightmare,' said Jaclyn Perez, resident who lost her home to the fire. Jacyln Perez said her family was inside when the wildfire sparked nearby. It spread so fast, they only had time to grab their pets before leaving. When they came back, they were left in disbelief. 'And it's just walking in and everything is just gone, just burned,' said Michael Perez, resident who lost his home to the fire. The city said the Alamo Fire sparked around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Starting in an open field, then spreading to nearby mobile homes in just 10 minutes. At least six homes and eight outbuildings were destroyed. The Perez family said that despite the danger, neighbors stepped up to help. 'The community has been so amazing. I mean, yesterday, how many people that were here helping trying to get everything out, helping the firefighters, I was one dragging the hoses to one of the fire hydrants,' said Jaclyn Perez. While no people were hurt, Perez lost a cat in a fire. While the flames are fully contained and evacuations are over, longtime neighbor Ray Olivas said it's devastating to see what's happened in the place he's called home for 40 years. 'We just couldn't believe it. There was so much smoke, we didn't know what was going on, where the fire started, how it started, but it was a terrible thing we've never seen anything like that before,' said Ray Olivas, resident of the neighborhood. He lost his home, but Michael Perez said he's grateful his family and neighbors are okay. 'See what we can salvage from the house, see what's okay still. Take that and just step by step, day by day, and just go from there really,' said Michael Perez. The Grants Police Department is now investigating, but so far, crews believe the fire was human-caused. The Grants Fire Department is also warning people that the town, along with the neighboring Milan and Cibola County is now under a burn ban. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
