Jack Catterall ‘will need plastic surgery' after ‘one of worst cuts ever' sees Harlem Eubank fight called off
Two former world champions insist even 12 stitches won't help Jack Catterall HORROR INJURY Jack Catterall 'will need plastic surgery' after 'one of worst cuts ever' sees Harlem Eubank fight called off JACK CATTERALL will need plastic surgery after suffering a gruesome injury in his fight against Harlem Eubank, according to two boxing legends. Catterall, 32, handed Eubank, 31, his first ever loss in 22 fights on a disappointing technical decision after an accidental head clash got the fight called off after just six rounds. 4 Jack Catterall will need plastic surgery after his gruesome injury 4 Catterall and his opponent Harlem Eubank suffered deep cuts above their eye Both fighters suffered nasty cuts above their eyes, which led to the bout being waved off and going to the judges amid a cacophony of boos. Catterall, who won via unanimous decision with a score of 69-65, 69-66 and 69-66, suffered a wound that was far worse than Eubank's. That led to former world champions Carl Frampton and Tony Bellew insisting El Gato will "definitely" need plastic surgery. The duo are adamant the cut is so deep that even 12 stitches wouldn't do the trick. In post fight analysis Frampton told DAZN: "That will definitely need plastic surgery. It's so deep. "There's no chance that that can be simply stitched up. Ten to twelve stitches won't do." Bellew agreed: "100 per cent, he'll need a specialist to sort that out." Catterall, though, is just happy to be back to winning ways after only his second boxing loss in 33 fights against Arnold Barboza Jr in February. The Chorley star said: "Respect to Harlem, but I was breaking him down. "It's frustrating I couldn't go through the gears. It's a head clash and I just have to move on. Harlem Eubank has one of boxing's most iconic surnames but he had to make his way in dingy 2,000-seat leisure centres 'The referee made the decision, it's out of my control. He was slippery and tricky but I felt I was catching him with the cleaner shots. 'I am back in the win column now, after back-to-back defeats, so I now can get back in the big fights.' 4 Carl Frampton is adamant Catterall will need a specialist after beating Eubank

El Gato blew his shot at Teofimo Lopez's world title when he suffered an agonising split-decision defeat to Arnold Barboza Jr in February. But he'll be desperate to bounce back with a huge victory over Eubank, the nephew of Chris Sr and the cousin of Chris Jr, who also boasts an incredible undefeated 21-0 record.
