Roma inquire about Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic
With Gian Piero Gasperini's arrival, Roma are planning to reinforce the attack and satisfy the coach's technical demands for the striker position. The Giallorossi are preparing their transfer moves ahead of preseason which is scheduled to kick off around 10 July. Advertisement As the future of Eldor Shomurodov and Artem Dovbyk remains uncertain, Roma are expected to bring in at least one additional striker this offseason. One of the profiles the capital club have already made inquiries for is Lecce's Nikola Krstovic, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. The 25-year-old Montenegrin forward is coming off an impressive season in Serie A with 12 goals and 5 assists. His profile is considered interesting for costs and characteristics: young, physical, accustomed to Serie A and with room for growth.

Torino 0-2 Roma: Ranieri bows out with Europa League spot
Claudio Ranieri ends his career steering Roma to the Europa League spot, as they had been fourth for much of the evening until a Juventus turnaround. The Giallorossi knew they had to win and hope that Juventus slipped up in Venice to snatch fourth place and Champions League qualification, but also that Lazio were right behind eager to steal fifth and the Europa League spot. Advertisement Artem Dovbyk returned from injury, but was only fit for the bench, with Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini out for several months. Toro's lengthy absentee list included Duvan Zapata, Yann Karamoh, Borna Sosa, Saul Coco and Alieu Njie. See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog. Eldor Shomurodov came so close to giving Roma the lead after 120 seconds, but his angled drive thumped the upright. Leandro Paredes also blasted over, while the Argentine lost possession for Che Adams to drill wide from a promising position. epa12135321 Roma's Leandro Paredes scores a goal during the Italian soccer Serie A match between Torino FC vs AS Roma at the Olimpico Grande Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy, 25 May 2025. Shomurodov chasing personal scoring record
Roma will play their last hopes of qualifying for the Champions League in the final act of the season. Tonight, at 8:45 p.m., the Giallorossi will face Torino in the 38th matchday of Serie A, with only one possible result to continue believing in fourth place: victory. Advertisement Claudio Ranieri will once again rely on Eldor Shomurodov to lead the attack. The Uzbek striker, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, will be the leading striker in the starting eleven due to Dovbyk's recent injury which has forced him to go to the bench. Close to leaving twice, Shomurodov has managed to carve out an important space for himself in recent weeks, also taking advantage of Dovbyk's inconsistent performances. Now the former Genoa player wants to close the year on a high note, chasing his eighth goal in the league that would allow him to equal his best tally in Serie A.

Shomurodov confirmed to start in Fiorentina showdown
Eldor Shomurodov appears to be Claudio Ranieri's new favorite as the Giallorossi prepare to face Fiorentina at Stadio Olimpico. The Uzbek striker, already a protagonist in the last match played against Inter, will be a starter again. The news was reported by the journalist of Il Tempo, Filippo Biafora, according to whom Ranieri is ready to re-propose the offensive tandem composed of Shomurodov and Dovbyk, a formula already tested with good results. In recent outings, Shomurodov has shown a growing condition and a renewed understanding with his teammate, Artem Dovbyk, which has allowed Roma to increase effectiveness in front of goal.
