Andhra Pradesh police seize 370 kg ganja, arrest four suspects, four on run
In a crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli district seized 370 kilograms of ganja worth approximately Rs 1 on a tip-off received through Elite Anti Narcotics Group of Law Enforcement (Eagle), the police carried out a vehicle check on August 2, 2025 around 9.15 am at Rachapalli Junction, Makavarapalem team was led by Narsipatnam Rural Circle Inspector L Revathamma and Makavarapalem, Sub Inspector P Damodara
During the inspection, the police noticed a scooty, a white Swift Dzire, and a white Ertiga stopping nearby. Upon spotting the police, several occupants from the vehicles attempted to the chase, the police managed to apprehend one individual from the scooty, two from the Swift Dzire, and one from the Ertiga. Four others managed to escape and are currently inspection in the presence of mediators, five gunny bags emitting a strong odour of ganja were found in the Swift Dzire, while ten similar bags were discovered in the Ertiga. The contraband included leaves, flowers, stems, and seeds of total, 370 kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore in the open market, was seized during the raid. Along with ganja the police also seized a Swift Dzire car, an Ertiga Car, a Scooty & 5 mobile phones from the confirmed that A-1 to A-3 and A-5 escaped.
