The incident happened near the area around South 5th Avenue and East Egbert Street.
Brighton police provided an update, stating that a 13-year-old girl was riding her bike when she was hit by a vehicle.
Brighton resident Elizabeth Botello, three doors down from the incident, went to check on the girl. The woman was helping her son and nephew pack up their food stand when she heard the crash.
'He was coming back, that's when we heard the impact and saw the young lady flying in the air,' said Botello. 'It's just scary, and I hope she's okay.'
Both roads are shut down while investigators are on the scene. Police said to avoid the area.
