An onlooker told The Mirror: 'They couldn't take their hands off each other. Elle and the guy looked very happy to be in one another's company. "They didn't shy away from everybody around them and looked very cosy together. Elle seemed relaxed as she looked close to the guy. It seems that she has moved on from Liam.' Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney, 22, 'is seen looking very cosy with new mystery man' - after splitting from co-star Liam Scholes

Coronation Street 's Elle Mulvaney was spotted looking 'very cosy' with a mystery man at Radio 1's Big Weekender on Friday, sources claim. The soap star, 22, split from her co-star Liam Scholes in May last year after two years together, which at the time left their Corrie family in shock by the separation. It appears Elle, who portrays Amy Barlow in the soap, has now moved on as she was reportedly seen looking 'loved-up' and smitten with the new man. According to The Mirror, the pair 'couldn't take their hands off each other' in the VIP section of the festival. A source at the festival told the publication: 'Ellie and the guy looked very happy to be in one another's company.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'They didn't shy away from everybody around them and looked very cosy together, Ellie seemed relax as she looked close to guy, it seems that she had moved on from Liam', the source added. MailOnline has contacted Elle's representatives for comment. Elle and Liam's split reportedly happened 'very suddenly' and the pair have cleared each other from their respective Instagram pages. A source told The Sun: 'Elle and Liam were loves young dream and did everything together. 'Their split has really shocked their co-stars and family and no one knows exactly what happened. 'It was all very sudden and they have both made it clear to pals it would take a miracle for them to get back together again.' The couple got together in 2022 just months after Elle split from ex-boyfriend Euan. Liam, who played Eli Higginson during a controversial hate crime storyline, has since starred in Waterloo Road as Noel McManus. His Corrie character helped evil Corey Brent cover up the murder of Seb Franklin, who died after a vicious street attack. The pair confirmed their romance at the tail-end of 2022 after enjoying a festive day out to London's Winter Wonderland in November, sharing pictures from the day a month later. The couple also enjoyed Christmas Day together, as they shot each other a loving gaze while posing for a snap next to a decorated tree. In July last year, Elle and boyfriend Liam looked every inch the happy couple as they attended The Great Summer Social Launch at Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village. The couple appeared in good spirits as they enjoyed a game of mini golf at the event. In October, the couple enjoyed a date to Alton Towers Resort for the launch of Oktoberfest. The pair seemed in good spirits as they cosied up while posing for pictures at the theme park. Elle revealed at the time that the younger generation of Coronation Street have become fast friends and enjoy going out together. Speaking to The Sun, she explained: 'We did all just find that instantly we became this tight-knit group of friends. We all socialise together. We've shown newcomer James Craven (who plays Aaron Sandford) the best places to go out in Manchester. We've taken him to all the clubs!' Elle also revealed the cast have their own saying for getting drunk, calling it 'getting Barlowed' after the cobbles' famous family. 'We were all saying, it's like we're in Friends! We call it our little Friends spin-off. I think it's so cool I've been here for so long. Even when people don't watch it, if I say 'I'm Ken's grand-daughter', they always know who he is. The Barlows are Coronation Street,' she continued.

Coronation Street star addresses future after 15 years on the cobbles

CORONATION Street favourite has broken their silence on whether they'll be sticking around in Weatherfield – after 15 years on the cobbles. The long-serving soap star opened up about their future on the ITV soap, leaving fans wondering if ANOTHER shock exit could be on the cards. 4 Elle Mulvaney has revealed if she will be sticking around amid the soap's financial crisis Credit: ITV 4 She hopes to beat soap legend Bill Roache's 65-year reign on the cobbles Credit: ITV Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney has revealed she's not going anywhere - and even joked she's got her sights set on beating soap legend Bill Roache's 65-year reign on the cobbles. Elle, 22, said: "Bill, we have spent 15 years together. They are more than colleagues, they do become a part of your family. "It's quite the challenge to beat. I am young enough to do it, I guess. It must be incredible for someone to be here 65 years. "All the stories he must have done and all the people he must have met. "Who knows what the future will bring? But right now I am loving Corrie more than ever and have no plans to leave, so long as they still want me." The actress, who's played Amy Barlow since she was just seven, first rocked up to Weatherfield in 2010 and has become a firm fan favourite ever since. She's been at the heart of huge storylines - from her harrowing rape and spiking ordeal to being brainwashed by The Institute. The star added: "I still can't believe I have been there for 15 years. It's hard to describe because in one way it feels that long but in another way it doesn't. "I joined when I was just seven and I'm now 22. I was just a young kid. I am so fortunate though. I still love Corrie, where I work and everyone I work with. I am just really lucky." While she's staying put on the cobbles for now, Elle has her sights set on a different kind of drama. Coronation Street's battered and bloodied Craig left unconscious on the cobbles after a vicious attack The actress confessed she'd love to swap Weatherfield for the wild and have a crack at I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Elle revealed: "Simon [Gregson], who plays my dad, did it and loved it. Bev Callard, who played my nan, also did it so we have a family tradition," she said. "I'm alright with bugs and creepy crawlies and snakes. They don't bother me. But I think I would really struggle with the food and the drink. "I'd struggle eating or cooking the meal in camp, never mind the Bushtucker Trials. I'd have to stick to the rice and beans." Meanwhile, Corrie is gearing up for a number of exits for some iconic characters this summer. Eileen Grimhshaw is set to exit the cobbles with actress Sue Cleaver quitting the soap after an incredible 25 years. And Craig Tinker's life will hang in the balance in his explosive exit storyline. The soap has already seen several characters depart the cobbles from Daisy Midgeley to Mason Radcliffe. Coronation Street is facing a financial crisis due to soaring production costs, a decline in advertising revenue, and a drop in viewing figures, leading to budget cuts and cast departures. Consequently, ITV is reducing the length of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale episodes from hour-long to 30-minute installments, starting in January 2026. This change will create a "soaps power hour" where Emmerdale airs at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8:30pm each weeknight. But with ratings falling and viewers switching to streamers like Netflix, soap stars are fearing the axe - should they be worried? Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX. 4 She's been at the heart of huge storylines - from her harrowing rape and spiking ordeal to being brainwashed by The Institute Credit: Not known, clear with picture desk
