Former CEO Files Federal Age and Gender Discrimination Claims Against Omnicom Group

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The former chief executive officer of Dallas-based TPN Holdings, an affiliate of global marketing communications giant Omnicom Group (NYSE:OMC), has filed a lawsuit in Dallas federal court alleging violations of federal and state gender and age discrimination statutes by the companies. 'This litigation is exposing a culture of a glass ceiling gender and age discrimination at Omnicom that the quantitative pay metrics prove is by all accounts intentional and undertaken in reckless disregard of the law." Ellen Cook, 63, had served as CEO of TPN Holdings since 2023 before being fired in 2024. Previously, she served almost 20 years as president and later CEO of The Integer Group, another affiliate of New York-based Omnicom. According to the lawsuit, in her most recent role, Ms. Cook successfully merged The Integer Group Dallas with TPN and stabilized revenue growth for TPN and stabilized the problematic financial issues that developed under her predecessor from The Integer Group. After discovering that an individual had received annual compensation at a rate more than 40% higher, Ms. Cook sought a review that led to retaliation from Omnicom's executive management and ultimately her termination. According to the lawsuit, these actions represent a pattern of 'a significant and accelerating decline in the representation of women in leadership roles' at Omnicom that 'coincided with the reciprocal removal of numerous senior female executives, many of whom were replaced by less experienced and younger male counterparts.' The lawsuit lists seven other women formerly in high-profile roles at Omnicom companies who were terminated under similar circumstances in recent years. The lawsuit states between 2021 and early 2025, male executive leadership at Omnicom Commerce Group grew from 33% to 75% and included the elimination of the only CEO role held by a woman over the age of 60 – Ms. Cook. 'This litigation is exposing a culture of a glass ceiling gender and age discrimination at Omnicom that the quantitative pay metrics prove is by all accounts intentional and undertaken in reckless disregard of the law,' says Ms. Cook's attorney Rogge Dunn. 'These laws protect our entire society, including the advertising industry, from the acts of would-be Don Drapers seeking a return to the 1950s. The facts make clear that what happened to Ms. Cook is but one example of the inequity and prejudice occurring at this company to this very day.' The case is Ellen Cook v. Omnicom Group, Inc. and TPN Holdings LLC, No. 3:25-cv-01245-X in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Son charged with murdering ‘lovely' mother outside village home

A man accused of murdering his 72-year-old mother outside her home has appeared in court. Daniel Cook, 39, allegedly killed Ellen Cook, a retired teacher, on Sunday evening. Police were called to Biddle Road in Littlethorpe, Leicestershire, where Mrs Cook was found lying fatally injured in the street. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. Mrs Cook had lived in the same semi-detached home with her husband Russ, 76, since the 1980s. The couple had three children – two daughters and a son. Mr Cook appeared at Leicester magistrates' court on Tuesday, when he was remanded into custody. A family member, who did not want to be named, told the Daily Mail: 'Ellen was a lovely woman. She was enjoying her retirement. They had three children – two beautiful girls and one boy.' Another neighbour said Mrs Cook had recently become a grandmother and was helping to look after her granddaughter. 'I would see her taking the little girl down to the swings. She was looking after the girl during the day while her daughter was at work,' one said. Mr Cook did not enter any pleas and is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday. Leicestershire Police said Mrs Cook was set to be formally identified later this week and officers were supporting the family. Det Chief Insp Mark Sinski said it was an 'isolated incident' as he appealed for witnesses. He said: 'I appreciate that the nature of the incident may cause some concern among residents in the area. 'However, I would like to reassure them that this is an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. 'If there is anyone who hasn't yet spoken to police and may have information connected to this incident, I would urge you to please get in contact with us, as what you saw or heard may be of significance to our investigation. 'We would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured video footage of the incident. We have set up a portal for people to upload any relevant footage.'

EXCLUSIVE Son, 39, charged with murdering his 'lovely' retired teacher mother, 72, - as distraught neighbours reveal she had just become a grandmother

A son appeared in court today accused of murdering his 72-year-old mother. Daniel Cook, 39, was charged after retired teacher Ellen Cook was allegedly stabbed to death in the street outside her home. Police were called to Biddle Road in Littlethorpe, Leicestershire on Sunday evening where Mrs Cook was found injured. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. Mrs Cook has lived in the same semi-detached home on the quiet village street with her husband Russ, 76, since the 1980s. The couple had three children, two daughters and Daniel and had recently become grandparents. One neighbour said: 'I heard a woman shouting loudly. I thought it was just someone who'd had a few drinks and was getting lively. 'Next thing I knew the whole road was full of emergency vehicles.' Over a dozen emergency vehicles attended the scene in the village near Leicester. One neighbour said: 'I did not hear anything until all the police were here, then I heard a man screaming very loudly. It was a terrible sound.' Neighbours said that Mrs Cook had recently become a grandmother and was helping to look after her granddaughter. 'I would see her taking the little girl down to the swings. She was looking after the girl during the day while her daughter was at work,' said one. A family member, who did not want to be named, said: 'Ellen was a lovely woman. She was enjoying her retirement. They had three children – two beautiful girls and one boy.' On Tuesday afternoon police tape was removed from around the family home where three cars sat on the driveway. Well-wishers left flowers of condolence.
