'We were told by the High Commission that we could not report from this event – this was extraordinary.'

Authorities worry key Madeleine McCann suspect could ‘flee and disappear' amid renewed search
Sky News contributor Sophie Elsworth has discussed the renewed search for British girl Madeleine McCann who went missing back in 2007 while she was on holiday with her parents. Ms Elsworth claims authorities are concerned that the prime key suspect, German man Christian Brueckner, may 'flee and disappear' when he's released from prison. Mr Brueckner is currently serving a seven-year sentence for rape and has always denied any involvement in Madeleine McCann's disappearance. 'They've gone back to this area near where Madeleine McCann went missing, and they're doing this giant search that will go on all week long,' Ms Elsworth told Sky News Australia.

Liverpool driver appeared ‘agitated' in lead up to ramming
News Corp Europe Correspondent Sophie Elsworth says 'there's still a lot of unknown' regarding the Liverpool incident where a car rammed through crowds injuring several dozen people. 'We know that a 53-year-old white British male from Liverpool has been arrested,' Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Sharri Markson. 'This was a city that was absolutely in peak celebration on Monday … and then it quickly turned to sheer devastation. 'We do not know what caused the driver to push his way through this crowd. 'Some witnesses did tell some of the news channels that the driver appeared agitated in the lead up to this unfolding of events and seemed distressed. 'There are so many questions that need to be answered.'

Liverpool police ‘squash' rumors of car street ramming being terror related
News Corp Europe Correspondent Sophie Elsworth discusses Liverpool police squashing 'any speculation' of the driving attack being terror-related. 'The police here in Merseyside came out last night and were quick to say this is not terror-related, and that a 53-year-old white British male has been arrested, the driver of the vehicle,' Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Peta Credlin. 'This was a day of celebration for Liverpool. 'It was a 10-mile parade that the players were going through … until about 6 o'clock last night when this car ploughed through the crowd. 'There are a lot of people here today in a very sombre mood.'

UK government ‘gaslights' Tony Blair over net zero disagreements

Ms Elsworth says the UK government did some 'gaslighting' to Mr Blair, claiming he is 'effectively backing in their strategy'. 'I think a lot of people are agreeing with him in the UK,' Ms Elsworth said. 'The population doesn't seem to like it. 'Net zero will not work, and it needs to be quashed because it is hurting the population, it is costing them more to move to this green dream.'
