Brewers reacquire pitcher Rob Zastryzny from Yankees in exchange for cash
MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers acquired left-handed pitcher Rob Zastryzny from the New York Yankees for cash and optioned right-handed pitcher Elvis Peguero to Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Zastryzny, 33, returns to Milwaukee after going 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA in nine appearances with the Brewers last season. He had spent all of this year in the minor leagues and had gone 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 13 relief appearances for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate.

Zastryzny, 33, returns to Milwaukee after going 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA in nine appearances with the Brewers last season. He had spent all of this year in the minor leagues and had gone 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 13 relief appearances for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate. He owns a 4-0 record and 4.30 ERA with 54 strikeouts over 67 innings in 54 career major league appearances. Zastryzny has pitched for the Chicago Cubs (2016-18), New York Mets (2022), Los Angeles Angels (2022), Pittsburgh Pirates (2023) and Brewers (2024). Peguero, 28, has gone 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA in six relief appearances with Milwaukee this season. He owns a career record of 11-10 with a 4.12 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 139 2/3 innings. ___ AP MLB:

Myers, 26, got sent to the minors one day after he allowed two runs, three hits and three walks over four innings in a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers optioned right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville and recalled right-handed reliever Elvis Peguero on Sunday. Myers, 26, got sent to the minors one day after he allowed two runs, three hits and three walks over four innings in a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. After starting this season on the injured list with a strained left oblique, Myers has gone 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in five appearances, including four starts. He has struck out 11 and has allowed 10 walks and 15 hits in 16 1/3 innings. He went 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA as a rookie last season and was named the Brewers' most valuable pitcher by the Milwaukee chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. He closed that season by pitching five shutout innings in the decisive Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series, a game the Brewers eventually lost 4-2 to the New York Mets. Brewers recall RHP Elvis Peguero, demote Tobias Myers
May 11 - The Milwaukee Brewers recalled Elvis Peguero from the Nashville Sounds on Sunday and optioned fellow right-hander Tobias Myers to the Triple-A club. Peguero, 28, posted a 5.68 ERA without a decision in five relief appearances with the Brewers this season. He appears to have gotten back on track with the Sounds, recording one save and a 2.25 ERA in seven appearances. Peguero owns an 11-10 record with three saves and a 4.15 ERA in 132 career relief appearances with the Los Angeles Angels and Brewers. Myers, 26, has followed up an impressive rookie season in which he went 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA in 27 appearances (25 starts) by going 1-0 with 3.86 ERA in five games (four starts) in 2025. He allowed two runs on three hits in four innings of a no-decision against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday -- a 3-2 loss. --Field Level Media
