Body of 'fun loving' boy, 5, dumped in car park bin as disturbing video emerges
WARNING - DISTRESSING CONTENT: The body of little Elyjiah Hearn was discovered inside a bin and a CCTV video has pointed to heartbreaking details A man is facing multiple charges following the death of his girlfriend's young son, who was found dumped inside a bin. The body of Elyjah Hearn, who was just five years old, was found in what prosecutors have described as a "commercial parking lot dumpster". Following the heartbreaking discovery, Brycson Malik Gaddis has been charged with one count of murder and assault on a child causing death. Gaddis is accused of beating the child to death in an apartment in Panorama City, LA, on 11 July, according to authorities. "This is truly a heartbreaking and horrific case, and our deepest sympathies go out to the young victim's family," District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement, via People. "We are committed to seeking justice and will ensure this defendant is held responsible for his actions." US news station ABC7 has since obtained disturbing surveillance video from the night of the alleged murder that appears to show a man walking next to a woman while holding something wrapped in a blanket - similar to the one found wrapped around Elyjah's body. They are walking on the street where Elyjah's body was found the following day. Yousef Rabadi, the co-owner of E&J Market and Liquor, which backs up to the aforementioned street, told the station: "You can see a head and small feet dangling." According to the outlet, Elyjah's mother was questioned by police but has been subsequently released. Gaddis, meanwhile, appeared in court on 18 August and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He is currently in jail on a $2m (£1.4m) bond. A GoFundMe has been set up in Elyjah's memory to help cover funeral costs for the little boy. It reads: "It is with shattered hearts that we announce the tragic and senseless passing of our beloved Elyjah Anthony Hearn. Born on March 20, 2020, Elyjah was only 5 years old when his precious life was violently taken. "Elyjah was a joyful, fun-loving child who brought light into every room he entered. He adored his family and was deeply loved in return. His laughter, energy, and innocent spirit touched everyone who knew him. His life was cut short far too soon, and our hearts are broken beyond words."
