Dave Portnoy lifts veil on Fox Sports partnership as he becomes face of ‘Big Noon Kickoff'

Dave Portnoy is coming to Fox Sports and he's bringing his Michigan fandom with him. The Barstool Sports honcho officially confirmed that he and his sports media empire are joining Fox Sports on Thursday, and he detailed what he plans to add to his role on 'Big Noon Kickoff.' 'What conference has ruled college football year after year after year? National Champion after National Champion?' Portnoy said in one of his trademark 'Emergency Press Conference' videos posted to X. 'Answer: the Big Ten. And what network covers the Big Ten better than anybody else? Fox Sports. 'Big Noon Kickoff.' And what school has dominated the Big Ten more than any school in the history of the conference? The answer: the Michigan Wolverines. Dave Portnoy announced Thursday that he and Barstool Sports are partnering with Fox Sports. @stoolpresidente/X 'Well, that ends today, friends. Barstool Sports, myself, we are joining 'Big Noon Kickoff.' The days of kicking Michigan when we're not around is over.' As for the other details of the partnership, Portnoy let slip a few details on 'The Unnamed Show' with cohosts Ryan Whitney and Kirk Minihane, noting that it's a 'wide-ranging partnership.' 'We're going to partner with Big Noon Kickoff… I'm going to be on it every week,' he said, noting that Barstool Sports' college football show will remain as a lead-in on the website — though Barstool personalities will be incorporated into 'Kickoff.' 'We are going to do an 8-10 daily show on Fox Sports 1. It will be like a 'Barstool Breakfast Show' [or] 'Barstool Wake up,' Portnoy said. 'I'm going to do Mondays, we'll have an office in Chicago. They want a taste of the Barstool world, really.' Barstool personalities, like Dan 'Big Cat' Katz, will have a role, though it's yet to be determined exactly how. It's a stunning return to TV for Portnoy and his band of writers and podcasters. In 2017, Barstool Sports partnered with ESPN, but its 'Van Talk' show was canceled after one episode after the Worldwide Leader experience internal blowback. It's not something Portnoy fears will happen again at Fox Sports. Barstool CEO Dave Portnoy at the Celtics Vs Knicks game 5 playoff game. Dave has built a one-of-a-kind brand that connects with a new generation of sports fans – authentic, bold, and original,' CEO and Executive Producer of Fox Sports Eric Shanks said in a statement. 'Their unique voice and loyal fanbase makes them a natural fit for our evolving multiplatform content strategy.'

Dave Portnoy vows to 'come for throats' over vile anti-Semitic act at his Philadelphia Barstool bar

Barstool Sports founder and president Dave Portnoy called out patrons at one of his company's branded bars for an anti-Semitic sign that was held up in Philadelphia. In a heated rant on X, Portnoy posted an 'Emergency Press Conference' video on Sunday after being informed that a light-up sign at the bar that said 'F*** the Jews' was spotted by his fans. Dave, who is Jewish, said he had been tracking down those responsible and promised to 'come for throats'. Dave said he was getting ready to attend an event over the weekend when his phone started 'blowing up' over the sign spotted at the Barstool Sansom Street located in Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. He said: 'Usually a great bar. You know, bottle service, people buy drinks, you get a sign. There was a sign yesterday that said, "F*** the Jews". 'I've been shaking. I've been so mad for the last two hours. Like I instantly got on, this is why the Emergency Press Conference is late, because I was so over the top. 'I'm gonna f***ing make it my life f***ing mission to ruin these people. Like, I'm coming for your throat. I'm never ending.' He explained that he'd spent the hours prior to making the video tracking down as much information as possible on the situation. 'You think I'm gonna put up with this s*** at my bar?,' he added. Dave assured fans tat he was 'hunting down' the waitresses that served the table and those at the table themselves, 'because I want f***ing consequences for f***ing actions'. He then said that both of the waitresses responsible for holding up the sign have been fired and called one of them 'one of the dumbest f***ing humans I've ever talked to in my life'. The video of the sign was posted on an Instagram story of an account that appears to have been deleted. That story tagged a now-private account. Dave says he spoke to the person behind the tagged account and revealed that they weren't at the bar that evening. 'I had this kid basically in tears, turning state witness to me, rolling on the people who there,' he said. Dave contacted the person who posted the video before the account was deleted and claims it belonged to a student at Temple University. He says the person behind the video began crying and telling him that he isn't anti-Semitic, but Dave said: 'I don't buy it for a second,' Portnoy said. 'Who the f*** would do that sign in my f***in bar? You think I'm just gonna sit here? I'm gonna make it my mission to put you in lights. 'Tell me how do I make this right before I go ape-s**t. You want to take anti-Semitism classes? You want to do whatever? You make it feel right. I don't need your tears... Trust me, they're pulling the footage. 'I'm 20 steps ahead and I'm using everything. I am going to come for your f***ing throat unless you give me answers.' Dave concluded the rant: 'What I'm saying is: I'm getting the names, I'm trying to be a little responsible, I'm trying to keep it together, but I'm on it. I'm f***ing on it.' In a statement released to the university community, Temple president John Fry says the school's Division of Student Affairs 'identified one Temple student who is believed to have been involved' and have placed them on interim suspension. The school is continuing to investigate the incident and that 'any additional students who are found to be involved will face strict disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code, up to and including expulsion' 'In the strongest terms possible, let me be clear: antisemitism is abhorrent. It has no place at Temple and acts of hatred and discrimination against any person or persons are not tolerated at this university,' Fry's statement said. A number of Dave's Barstool employees expressed sympathy and support for their boss on social media. Barstool college football creator Kayce Smith posted, 'This is absolutely sickening. My heart hurts for my Jewish friends and family knowing how much hate they face daily.' 'Horrifically hateful by these people who did it and those who allowed it. No place in the world for this. Horrific,' said Barstool gambling content creator Rico Bosco.
