The aim is to harness AI to build a Telangana where citizen services reach people even before they seek, he said, adding the government believes in being proactive, transparent and forward-looking as opposed to one that reacts after a problem arises. $5 billion AI Hub Inaugurating a three-day training programme for government officials organised by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the IT Department at the Dr. MCR HRD Institute here, he said the government's vision is to make Telangana a hub for a $5 billion AI economy, which would generate thousands of new jobs. Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Secretary Bhavesh Mishra and other senior officials were present at the launch. A first-of-its-kind effort to institutionalise AI-readiness across the State's governance ecosystem, the programme aims to create internal capacity to harness AI for improving service delivery, operational efficiency, and policy effectiveness while fostering collaboration across departments and enabling scalable adoption of AI in governance. The programme will equip the officers with AI fundamentals, data readiness skills and exposure to no-code tools and agile solution development.
