Leeds road closures for city's St Patrick's Day parade
Several roads in Leeds city centre are due to be closed on Sunday for a St Patrick's Day parade, drivers have been parade was expected to include floats from schools, bands and community groups, according to the volunteers behind the on Millennium Square at about 11:00 GMT, the parade would get under way on Great George Street before heading down Park Row and on to Boar Lane before travelling back via Vicar Lane and The Headrow, organisers roads would be closed on a rolling basis between 10:00 GMT and 13:00 GMT, they added.
The roads affected include:The HeadrowPark RowBoar LaneDuncan StreetNew Market StreetVicar LaneAlbion StreetGreat George StreetThis year's parade would raise money for St Gemma's Hospice, an independent charity providing end-of-life care to the people of Leeds, its organisers event was supported by Leeds City Council and the Government of Ireland's Emigrant Support organisers thanked the Irish organisations of Leeds which supported the parade and staff from Leeds City Council's events and highways team.
