Former Kevin McCarthy aide to lead permitting agency
The Trump administration has tapped a former House Republican leadership aide to lead an agency tasked with accelerating permitting reviews.
Emily Domenech — who is becoming the Permitting Council's executive director — served as a top energy and environment issues aide to California Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy during his time as House speaker.
Domenech also worked briefly under current Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and in the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. Most recently, she's been a lobbyist at the firm Boundary Stone Partners.

'Time to build baby, build!' Domenech posted Wednesday on the social media site X about her appointment, which does not require Senate confirmation.
