Mel B spotted along with her Spice Girl bandmates at 50th birthday party – but two skipped the bash

MEL B is spotted along with two of her Spice Girl bandmates at her 50th birthday bash. Emma Bunton and Mel C were among the guests in leopard-print outfits, in homage to Scary Spice Mel's best-known stage get-ups. 5 5 But Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham were not at the Leeds party on Saturday. Insiders said Posh was away for work and Geri declined the invitation to the event. We told last week how the Girls' ex-manager is in talks for them to reunite as avatars, following in the steps of Abba. An insider spilled: 'Mel's throwing a huge party in Leeds for her 50th. It's also her fiance's birthday today so it's a joint celebration and will be a real family affair. "But Geri and Posh can't make it. Posh had a work commitment she couldn't get out of. "It's a bit awkward given the reunion excitement." The Sun has contacted their reps for comment. The snub comes just days after we revealed plans for the group to reunite as Avatars, following in the footsteps of pop legends Abba. It would see holograms of Geri, Mels B and C, Emma Bunton and Victoria playing their biggest hits. Major new Spice Girls project planned with boss Simon Fuller inspired by groundbreaking hit – but will Posh be involved? 5 5

Spice Girls flock to Mel B's themed 50th bash

Spice Girl Melanie B celebrated her 50th birthday over the weekend – and two out of her four bandmates were there to celebrate with her. Fellow Spice Girls Melanie C and Emma Bunton were on hand for the celebrations, the pair both sticking to the night's strict dresscode: Mel's trademark Scary Spice leopard print. The party was held at the Habbibi hookah bar and restaurant in central Leeds, Mel's hometown. In recent years she's moved back to the northern UK city with her children, reconnecting with her mother and sister after a period of estrangement. But it appears that period is well and truly over – in footage from the night Mel shared on Instagram, she could be seen rolling on the floor with younger sister Danielle, the sisters laughing hysterically as they embraced. Other video shared from the event showed Mel dancing with her fellow Spice Girls to the group's 2000 hit Holler. All three Spices attended with their respective partners in tow: Mel B with her fiance, hairdresser Rory McPhee, Bunton with husband Jade Jones, and Melanie C with her Aussie model boyfriend Chris Dingwall. Notably absent at the party were the other two Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell-Horner. Geri did at least wish Mel a Happy 50th on Instagram – although fans were quick to point out in the comment section that Mel is not one of the 83 accounts Geri follows on the platform (she does, however, follow all three other Spice Girls). It's perhaps not without cause: Mel B used the platform to publicly wish her former bandmate a happy 52nd birthday last year – but added a few digits to her age. 'Happy 75th bday Ginge,' she wrote. The last time all five members of the group were seen together was for Victoria's 50th bash in April last year. Meanwhile, speculation is growing – yet again – that the Spice Girls might soon embark on another reunion tour, this time to mark next year's 30th anniversary of the release of debut single Wannabe. The group's long-suffering Aussie fanbase might believe that when we see it. After ditching a planned Australian date during their first reunion tour in 2007, the group got Aussies' hopes up again the final night of their 2019 UK and Ireland reunion jaunt. Mel B made world headlines as the band said their goodbyes at Wembley Stadium, announcing 'we'll see you in February in Australia!' By the next morning she was walking back the comments many had interpreted as confirmation of what would've been the group's first Australian tour, explaining during a radio interview on 2Day FM: 'You know me by now. I announced it on stage, yes, without everybody else signing off 100 per cent, but I figured if I put it out there, maybe it's going to happen.'

Mel B danced the night away with her leopard-print clad Spice Girl bandmates Mel C and Emma Bunton at her lavish 50th birthday party on Saturday night. The singer celebrated the huge milestone in Leeds and shared a video on her social media the morning after which gave an insight into the bash. The clip showed her, Mel C, 51, and Emma, 49, hitting up the dance floor - no doubt to their own catchy tunes. The pair had supported Mel B's classic Scary Spice leopard print look by choosing to wear the bold print for her party. The remaining Spice Girls stars Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell-Horner were nowhere to be seen. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Mel penned in the caption of her post: 'Here's to 50 !!! And allll thats to come!' The birthday girl made sure she claimed the lions share of attention by recalling her girl band glory, courtesy of a sequin leopard print mini dress with dramatic shoulder pads. She adopted her trademark Scary pout and styled her brunette locks into a tight bun at the top of her head. The former X Factor judge pulled out all the stops for her big night and towered in some open toe heels as she joined her partner Rory McPhee and her children Angel, 18, and Phoenix, 26, in Leeds for the glamorous evening. Emma appeared to justify her well-earned popstar status in her own variation of the striking leopard print in a mini dress. The blonde bombshell put on a very leggy display as she walked hand in hand with her singer and chef husband Jade Jones. The pair who have been together for over two decades appeared more loved up than ever, as they made their way into the Habbibi restaurant. Jade looked equally as stylish as he donned a trilby hat, patterned shirt which he left unbuttoned at the top and black trousers with loafers. She turned the big 5-0 just a few days ago and on Saturday night, Mel B and some of her fellow Spice Girls were out in full force to celebrate the huge milestone in style. The Spice Girls were formed in 1994 with Victoria (Posh Spice), Geri (Ginger Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Mel C (Sporty Spice). The group released hits such as Wannabe (1996) - which helped skyrocket their career in the industry - as well as 2 Become 1 (1996) and Viva Forever (1997). The party was leopard print themed including the cake which was adorned with the cat spots and had the words 'Happy Birthday Melanie' iced across the top Amid the success, a Spice Girls feature film titled, Spice World, was released in theatres and became a box office success. However, in 2000, the group went on a hiatus while members focused on their own solo careers. The performers reunited from 2007 to 2008 for the Return Of The Spice Girls Tour, and once again for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In 2019, the group came together once again to embark on a Spice World Tour - but Beckham did not join. Last March, Mel B stated that the Spice Girls would reunite for the 30th anniversary amid rumors during an appearance on Loose Women. 'We are definitely doing something...I'm probably going to get told off but I've said it, there we go! We are doing something this year. I'm in trouble now…,' she stated at the time. However in February, Melanie C told The Sun of Mel B: 'I adore her and she has this thing, and it can sometimes get us into hot water. Of course we're always talking, we'd love to do something else.' 'I'd love to get back on stage with the girls but everybody wants to do something a little bit different or in a different way, so it's just trying to get everyone on the same page at the same time.' She added, 'But Melanie likes to manifest things and she thinks if she says it enough, it will happen. I can't confirm that there is anything happening soon but we're always talking about opportunities.' Last April, Victoria gave an update on the Spice Girls reuniting for the 30th anniversary while talking to Radio France. 'We do have a group chat, I do speak to all the girls. It would be lovely for us to do something to celebrate - a dinner or a lunch - and reminisce, but yes it will not be any more than that.'
