Jake Barrett, 31, has been remanded in custody after the incident in Greenock. A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a police officer was was allegedly stabbed in Greenock over the weekend. ‌ Jake Barrett, 31, of no fixed abode, was also charged with theft when he appeared in private at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, August 4. ‌ He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again within the next eight days. ‌ Police were called to a report for a concern for a man in Greenock in the early hours of Sunday. He has since been discharged.
