McDonald's to launch fresh menu in HOURS with two new items and seven returning favourites

MCDONALD'S is releasing a new menu in just hours - complete with two fresh items and seven returning favourites. The fast-food chain's latest range will be available to buy tomorrow for a period of six weeks. 4 Among the returning favourites are the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon, which fans have previously dubbed the chain's "best burger by far". The burgers were last sold in 2024 and feature a beef patty, Emmental cheese, onions, tomatoes and a smoky sauce. But there is one small catch. The burger will only be available to buy across stores in East Anglia. Tyne & Tees locals will also benefit from a menu refresh with the return of the much-loved Steakhouse Stack. Meanwhile, the Chicken Big Mac - a chicken version of the McDonald's classic burger - will be coming back everywhere except for East Anglia and Tyne & Tees. The burger comes with two chicken patties, a slice of cheese, pickles, lettuce and Big Mac sauce. As well as these new additions, Mcdonald's is bringing back some fan favourites. These include the Spicy Chicken Nuggets, which come with a Spicy Chilli Dip, and Chilli Cheese Bites. Plus there's the Milky Way McFlurry and the Fajita Chicken One wrap. McDonald's launches brand-new burger featuring never-before-seen sauce Fans have also been getting excited for the Jaffa Cakes McFlurry, which includes chocolate covered shortcake pieces and an orange sauce to replicate the famous flavour. Maccies is also giving customers the chance to customise their Sprite Zero drinks. They'll be able to add a pump of fruity syrup to the drink, which comes in the flavours Green Apple or Mango & Passionfruit. How to save at McDonald's YOU could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose. Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other. You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts. The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey. You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer. There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald's app, so it's worth signing up to get money off your meals. The MyMcDonald's app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up. You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you're a My McDonald's app user. The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details - otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats. The menu update does mean that sadly some items will be disappearing at the same time. Fans can say goodbye to the Chicken Katsu Wrap, Halloumi Fries, Toffee Apple Pie, Toffee Crisp McFlurry and Cheesy McCrispy. More McDonald's news The fast food giant recently launched a new game with free food and cash worth £10,000 up for grabs. Its new Side Missions will be around until August 25 and lets customers unlock special food deals. Plus, McDonald's also revealed another new menu item: the Double Filet-o-Fish. This new burger includes two crispy Pollock fish patties, along with melted cheese and creamy tartar sauce, all served in a steamed bun – just like the original.

McDonald's ‘best burger by far' is finally returning — but there's a big catch

McDonald's customers are in for a treat as the fast food chain is preparing to switch up its menu at the end of the month. For six weeks from July 30 there will be a brand new McFlurry flavour available, plus two 'unmissable' new drinks, and several returning classics – including a burger that's been hailed the 'best by far' by diehard fans. We're talking, of course, about the Big Tasty and Big Tasty with Bacon, which are rarely featured on the menu, despite being incredibly popular. Last sold in 2024, the burgers both feature a beef patty, Emmental cheese, onions, tomatoes and a smoky sauce, all served in a toasted sesame bun, and one has some extra bacon. But there is a bit of a catch… the range won't be available nationwide. The Big Tasty range will only be a regional exclusive in East Anglia from the end of next week. Similarly, those in Tyne & Tees are also getting a special treat, as the Steakhouse Stack will be joining the line up in participating restaurants up north. But before those in these parts of the UK start feeling smug about their bonus items, it's worth noting that they'll be missing out on one other returning product: the Chicken Big Mac. The chicken version of the classic, which features two patties, a slice of cheese, pickles, lettuce and Big Mac sauce, will be back on McDonald's menus everywhere except for East Anglia and Tyne & Tees, for a limited time. But the whole of the UK will be able to enjoy a bunch of other returning fan-favourites, including Spicy Chicken McNuggets served with a Spicy Chilli Dip, the Fajita Chicken One, (a wrap made with creamy fajita sauce, tomato salsa, onions, cheese and lettuce with either crispy or grilled chicken), Chilli Cheese Bites and the Milky Way McFlurry with milk chocolate stars, malt flavoured pieces and a chocolate sauce. Aside from these, there are three brand new items to sip and sink your teeth into in August. McDonald's is going to be shaking up its drinks menu with a bold new way to customise their Sprite Zero drink. For the first time ever, customers will be able to add a pump of fruity syrup to their beverage, choosing from Green Apple or Mango & Passionfruit flavours. And those who want to cool off with an ice cream are going to be able to try a new Jaffa Cakes McFlurry, which sees the vanilla base swirled with chocolate covered shortcake pieces and an orange sauce. The new items being introduced mean we have to say goodbye to some of the current ones. The Chicken Katsu Wrap is being axed, along with the Halloumi Fries, Toffee Apple Pie, Toffee Crisp McFlurry and Cheesy McCrispy. More Trending The Big Arch burger will be sticking around on the menu for a little while longer though, as will the Frank's RedHot Mayo dip and the Squishmallows Happy Meal. Mcdonald's is also introducing a new game on its app, known as Side Missions. For four weeks from July 14, those with the app can play to unlock weekly food offers and a chance to win big prizes including £10,000 in cash, £100 Argos or Virgin Experience Vouchers, cinema tickets and free food. Raising a toast to the Indo-French bond on Bastille Day

The Consulate General of France in Kolkata hosted a grand dinner reception on July 14 to celebrate the National Day of France, also known as Bastille Day. In the presence of chief guest Vivek Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, along with diplomats and dignitaries, the outgoing CG of France in Kolkata, Didier Talpain, raised a heartfelt toast to the occasion — one final time. French delicacies steal the spotlight Guests were treated to an array of artisanal breads and a curated selection of fine French cheeses, including the creamy Camembert, the nutty Emmental, and the rich Brie. The main course transported palates directly to France with aromatic herbed rice, the comforting Gratin dauphinois, the vibrant Ratatouille, and the classic Coq au Vin. A delightful assortment of desserts provided a sweet conclusion to the authentic culinary journey. My time in Kolkata has deepened my understanding of this unique connection, witnessing the passion and warmth that binds our two nations – Didier Talpain, French CG in Kolkata This event celebrates the strong and enduring ties between France and India, and the special connection that we share in West Bengal – Vivek Kumar, IAS

Lekker Brekker Monday: Melty cheese & onion toasties in your air fryer

Leave the sandwich maker in the cupboard and heat up the air fryer for these crisp and golden toasted sarmies. An air fryer turns out perfect toasted sandwiches, if you follow a few simple rules. I made cheese and onion sandwiches – very simple, using shop-bought bread. Use a fancier loaf if you prefer. The onions are sliced and fried in butter in a pan to draw out their sweet aromatic flavours. It's important to grate the cheese finely. Here are my tips: Preheat the air fryer; Use lots of grated cheese to make a satisfyingly cheesy sandwich; Use a cheese that melts well, such as Cheddar, Emmental, Gouda or Mozzarella. A nice stringy 'pull' makes for a better sandwich; Once assembled with the top slice of bread in place, push the sandwich down firmly with your palm; Spray the sandwiches on both sides with cooking oil spray before putting them in the air fryer; Cook the sandwiches in the air fryer long enough for the top and bottom of the toast to be well browned and for the cheese to have melted. It took about 8 minutes at 200°C in my air fryer. Turn half way; and Use 1 cup of cheese or more (when grated) per two sandwiches. Tony's melty cheese & onion toasties in your air fryer (Makes 4 toasted sandwiches) Ingredients 8 slices of white or brown shop-bought bread Butter or canola margarine to spread on the insides of the bread 1 medium onion, sliced 2 Tbsp butter for frying the onions 2 cups grated cheese (I used Cheddar) Salt and black pepper Herbs of your choice (oregano, thyme, marjoram or snipped chives) Spice of your choice (cayenne pepper, paprika, nutmeg, ground coriander) Cooking oil spray A sprig of herb for garnish Method Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Butter the bread on the insides. Fry the sliced onion in butter and spoon it on four of the buttered slices. Grate the cheese and place it on top of the four slices. Sprinkle salt and black pepper on top. Sprinkle on any spice and scatter any herb leaves of your choice. Place the remaining four slices of bread on top, and press the sandwiches down very firmly with your palm. This is important as it is what keeps the toasted sandwiches intact; without it, the top slice may not 'stick'. Spray the top and bottom slices generously with cooking oil spray. Place in the air fryer and cook at 200°C until you can see that the top slices are crisp and golden. Turn carefully and repeat until the other side looks just as good. Plate them up, with a garnish of herb leaves. DM

The Expensive Type Of Steak Kim Jong-Un Eats

Kim Jong-Un was not originally supposed to succeed his father, Kim Jong-Il, as the Supreme Leader of North Korea. For a time, it seemed that the dictator might be replaced by his eldest son, Kim Jong-Nam, or his second-oldest son, Kim Jong-Chol. But Jong-Nam made mistakes (most notably getting caught in Japan with a fake passport trying to visit Tokyo Disneyland), and Jong-Chol was reportedly seen as too feminine for Jong Il's tastes. Jong-Un was the most like his father, not only in terms of ruthlessness, but in terms of his preference for expensive cuts of steak. (This, despite the fact that the people of North Korea have been dealing with famine and food shortages for decades.) Kenji Fujimoto, the personal sushi chef for Kim Jong-Il who correctly predicted that Jong-Un would succeed him as leader, spilled some tea about Jong-Un's expensive tastes. He would often make sushi for the future leader when preparing meals for Jong-Un's father, and recalled banquets with rich, decadent foods such as shark fin soup and, indeed, Kobe steak -- a kind of Wagyu beef with intricate marbling that makes it incredibly tender and flavorful. Because the standards for what can be called Kobe beef are so exacting, it's incredibly expensive, costing anywhere between $200 and $500 per pound. But for men like Kim Jong-Un, money (or consideration for his populace) is clearly no object. Read more: 11 Best Smokers For Brisket, According To Reviews Kim Jong-Un acquired his expensive taste from his father. They often ate Kobe steak together. Chef Kenji Fujimoto reported that both Jong-Il and Jong-Un favored the toro (the fatty meat of the tuna belly) when eating sushi. Beyond the influence of his father, Kim Jong-Un has been known to consume a litany of luxurious foods: caviar, foie gras, lobster, Parma ham, and expensive whiskeys, cognacs, and champagnes. He has also displayed some tastes which are more pedestrian, like meaty pizzas and Emmental cheese (which can be used to top your French onion soup). However, Kim may have taken them to extremes. It was once rumored that he ate cheese so much that he began hiding from the public. As for the rest of North Korea, they don't eat quite so luxuriously. Common dishes include injo gogi bap (a kind of sausage made out of soybeans), kimchi (a dish they have in common with their neighbors to the south, despite South Korea's occasional kimchi shortage), and maize porridge.
