Take a behind the scenes look of Kilmer Mansion with Junior League
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Interior design aficionados will be able to take a behind the scenes look at Kilmer Mansion before it undergoes restoration this summer.
Junior League of Binghamton is hosting an Empty House Party on Sunday. During the event, guests will be able to explore the mansion before it is transformed by a variety of different designers.
In June, Junior League is hosting a Designer Show House, and the mansion will be reimagined with elements that are true to the times of the Kilmer Family.
Junior League member Christina Olevano says the Empty House Party will encourage community members to return this summer to see what the designers did with the blank space.
'It's just a fun way to spend a Sunday. You get to support your local Junior League of Binghamton and all of the great things that we do. You get a sneak peek at the Kilmer Mansion before the Designer Show House in the summer. And you get a chance to enter in to win prizes and also just have some snacks and listen to some live music,' said Olevano.
The event will be held from 10 to noon on Sunday.
Tickets are $15.
Proceeds from ticket sales from both the Empty House Party and Designer Show House will support Junior League's plans to fight food insecurity by starting a Food Recovery and Prepared Meal Truck. The truck will offer free meals in community members in need.
