Acapulco , the nostalgic comedy chronicling Máximo Gallardo's rags-to-riches story at Las Colinas resort, is coming to an end. Apple TV+ announced that the fourth season of the hit show, starring Eugenio Derbez as the adult Máximo and Enrique Árrizon as his younger self, will be its last.
'These four seasons have been magical,' says Derbez, reflecting on the show's run. 'While saying goodbye is bittersweet, I'm so proud of what we created. From our incredible cast, writers, and directors, to the way we celebrated Mexico's culture, beauty, and warmth - it's been an unforgettable ride.'
Since its 2021 debut, this heartwarming, feel-good series- with its endearing and colorful characters, hilarious cast, and a killer '80s soundtrack - has captivated audiences worldwide. The show has also featured memorable Latino celebrity guest stars, including telenovela star Jaime Camil ( Jane the Virgin , Schmigadoon! ) and Cristo Fernández ( Ted Lasso ).
For Derbez, who also serves as executive producer, part of the show's charm is that Apple TV+'s first-ever Spanish bilingual series focuses on family-friendly storytelling and positive portrayal of Latinos.

The final season will see present-day Máximo working tirelessly to restore Las Colinas to its former glory before a grand reopening. Meanwhile, in 1986, young Máximo faces new challenges when a competitor claims the number one spot in Acapulco's annual 'Best Hotels' ranking, pushing him to do whatever it takes to reclaim the top position and secure Las Colinas's future.
The ensemble cast includes Fernando Carsa, Rafael Cebrián, Damián Alcázar, Vanessa Bauche, Camila Perez, Carlos Corona, Chord Overstreet, Regina Reynoso, Jessica Collins, and Regina Orozco. Jaime Camil and Cristo Fernández also return for season four, joined by new recurring guest stars Omar Chaparro ( Como caído del cielo , No Manches Frida ) and Keyla Monterroso Mejia ( Freeridge , Curb Your Enthusiasm ).

Executive producers Austin Winsberg and Sam Laybourne expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the creative team and the show's run: 'This show has been a true miracle in the vast TV landscape - a bilingual, feel-good comedy with a predominantly Latin cast. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with this incredible cast, crew, and writers every single day.'
During an interview ahead of season three in 2024, Winsberg attributed the show's universal appeal to the diversity of its cast, crew, and creative team, telling stories that resonate globally: 'Workplace stories, romance stories, underdog stories — these are things that anybody can relate to.'
The conclusion to Acapulco begins with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, July 23.
