Blues 2025-26 schedule takeaways: Revenge date with Winnipeg, reunions and more

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues will welcome Vladimir Tarasenko and the Minnesota Wild to town for the regular-season opener Oct. 9 at Enterprise Center. Among the many roster changes that transpired over the offseason, Tarasenko was traded from the Red Wings to the Wild, so there will be some new faces in new places when the Blues take the ice in 2025-26. Advertisement Some others are more recent Blues players facing their former team, such as Zack Bolduc (Montreal Canadiens), Nick Leddy (San Jose Sharks) and Radek Faksa (Dallas Stars). But perhaps specific players aren't of the most interest to you — it's teams. Well, after the way the 2024-25 season wrapped up, you'll want to know that the Winnipeg Jets make their first trip to St. Louis Dec. 17. The Blues can begin to get the taste of that excruciating first-round playoff loss out of their mouths when they drop the puck on the preseason Sept. 20 against the Dallas Stars — the first of six exhibition games that were announced earlier this week. #stlblues 2025 preseason schedule: — Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) July 14, 2025 And on Wednesday, the Blues got their regular-season schedule: Here's the breakdown with month-by-month takeaways … (All times in CT) 9: vs. Minnesota Wild, 7 p.m. 11: at Calgary Flames, 3 p.m. 13: at Vancouver Canucks, 6:30 p.m. 15: vs. Chicago Blackhawks, 8:30 p.m. 18: vs. Dallas Stars, 6 p.m. 21: vs. Los Angeles Kings, 7 p.m. 23: vs. Utah Mammoth, 7 p.m. 25: at Detroit Red Wings, 6 p.m. 27: at Pittsburgh Penguins, 6 p.m. 28: vs. Detroit Red Wings, 7:15 p.m. 30: vs. Vancouver Canucks, 7 p.m. 1: at Columbus Blue Jackets, 6 p.m. 3: vs. Edmonton Oilers, 7:30 p.m. 5: at Washington Capitals, 6:30 p.m. 6: at Buffalo Sabres, 6 p.m. 8: vs. Seattle Kraken, 6 p.m. 11: vs. Calgary Flames, 7 p.m. 14: vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m. 15: vs. Vegas Golden Knights, 7 p.m. 18: at Toronto Maple Leafs, 6 p.m. 20: at Philadelphia Flyers, 6 p.m. 22: at New York Islanders, 2:30 p.m. 24: at New York Rangers, 6 p.m. 26: at New Jersey Devils, 6 p.m. 28: vs. Ottawa Senators, 3 p.m. 29: vs. Utah Mammoth, 7 p.m. 1: vs. Anaheim Ducks, 7 p.m. 4: at Boston Bruins, 6 p.m. 6: at Ottawa Senators, 6 p.m. 7: at Montreal Canadiens, 6 p.m. 9: vs. Boston Bruins, 6 p.m. 11: at Nashville Predators, 7 p.m. 12: vs. Chicago Blackhawks, 7 p.m. 15: vs. Nashville Predators, 7 p.m. 17: vs. Winnipeg Jets, 7 p.m. 18: vs. New York Rangers, 7 p.m. Advertisement 20: at Florida Panthers, 5 p.m. 22: at Tampa Bay Lightning, 6 p.m. 27: vs. Nashville Predators, 7 p.m. 29: vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m. 31: at Colorado Avalanche, 8 p.m. 2: vs. Vegas Golden Knights, 2 p.m. 3: vs. Montreal Canadiens, 3 p.m. 7: at Chicago Blackhawks, 8:30 p.m. 9: at Utah Mammoth, 8 p.m. 10: at Vegas Golden Knights, 9 p.m. 13: vs. Carolina Hurricanes, 7 p.m. 16: vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, 7 p.m. 18: at Edmonton Oilers, 7 p.m. 20: at Winnipeg Jets, 7 p.m. 23: at Dallas Stars, 7 p.m. 24: vs. Los Angeles Kings, 7 p.m. 27: vs. Dallas Stars, 7 p.m. 29: vs. Florida Panthers, 7 p.m. 31: vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, 6 p.m. 2: at Nashville Predators, 7 p.m. 4: at Dallas Stars, 8:30 p.m. 26: vs. Seattle Kraken, 7 p.m. 28: vs. New Jersey Devils, 6 p.m. 1: at Minnesota Wild, 5:30 p.m. 4: at Seattle Kraken, 9 p.m. 6: at San Jose Sharks, 9 p.m. 8: at Anaheim Ducks, 8 p.m. 10: vs. New York Islanders, 6:30 p.m. 12: at Carolina Hurricanes, 6 p.m. 13: vs. Edmonton Oilers, 7 p.m. 15: at Winnipeg Jets, 2 p.m. 18: at Calgary Flames, 8:30 p.m. 21: at Vancouver Canucks, 6 p.m. 24: vs. Washington Capitals, 7 p.m. 26: vs. San Jose Sharks, 7 p.m. 28: vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, 6 p.m. 30: at San Jose Sharks, 9 p.m. 1: at Los Angeles Kings, 8 p.m. 3: at Anaheim Ducks, 9 p.m. 5: at Colorado Avalanche, 8:30 p.m. 7: vs. Colorado Avalanche, 7 p.m. 9: vs. Winnipeg Jets, 7 p.m. 11: at Chicago Blackhawks, 4 p.m. 13: vs. Minnesota Wild, 7 p.m. 14: vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, 8:30 p.m. 16: at Utah Mammoth, 7 p.m.

WWE dumping beloved R-Truth in shocker

R-Truth is done at WWE. He himself reported on Sunday that he was being 'released,' which stunned many in wrestling, and has since been verified by wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp on X, who says Truth will be out of the company when his current deal expires. The 53-year-old, whose real name is Ron Killings, concludes a tenure that spanned over 17 years, much longer than his first stint at the company, which ran from 1999-2001. WWE via Getty Images In a heartfelt message shared on X, Killings expressed his gratitude: 'Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride,' he wrote. 'Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.' Advertisement There is 'a lot of shock and disbelief within the WWE roster' over Truth being let go, according to Sapp. Killings' departure follows his recent storyline involvement with current WWE Undisputed champion John Cena. At WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event on May 24, Killings faced Cena in a match that ended with Cena cheating to win, marking Killings' final high-profile televised appearance with the company to date. Fellow competitors, including Rhea Ripley and Pat McAfee, took to social media to share their appreciation for Killings' contributions to the company. Advertisement 'In all seriousness, this is literally so heartbreaking… Thank you Truth,' Ripley posted in a reply to Killings' tweet. McAfee added in a separate post, 'I love @RonKillings It's guaranteed joy when he's a part of a segment.. He's also my dad's favorite WWE Superstar of all time. The McAfees are bummed aht but we all know R Truth will continue to bless the world with his BIG ass brain,' he wrote, then adding, 'THANK YOU TRUTH.' 4 R-Truth (l.) and The Miz (r.) celebrate winning the tag team championships at WrestleMania 40. Getty Images Throughout his career, Killings achieved numerous accolades. He is a two-time WWE United States champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team champion, once with Kofi Kingston and another with The Miz, and he holds the record for the most reigns as WWE 24/7 champion, with 54 title wins. Killings has also challenged for the WWE title on multiple occasions. Before his WWE tenure, Killings made history in Total Nonstop Action (TNA) by becoming the first recognized Black NWA World Heavyweight champion, a title he held twice. Advertisement He was also a three-time Tag Team champion in TNA, including once with former NFL cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones while the latter was suspended one year from the league in 2007. Killings is most known for his comedic segments and providing levity to various forms of WWE programming, which is now being lamented on social media with the news of his release.

‘Possibly hundreds' of mail pieces found scattered on busy downtown St. Louis street

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis radio personality found 'possibly hundreds' of pieces of mail scattered across a busy downtown street early Tuesday morning during her commute to work. Debbie Monterrey, a longtime KMOX radio host, came across the scene around 4 a.m. Tuesday on 14th Street near its intersection with Clark Avenue, just steps from the Enterprise Center. Monterrey shared a 15-second video clip of her experience with FOX 2, a news partner of KMOX, and reflected on the odd discovery Wednesday during 'The Chris and Amy Show' on KMOX. 'I'm just driving in how I do. And I get towards the light and I'm like 'What?,'' said Monterrey. 'At first I thought somebody knocked over a garbage can, but then I realized, this is mail. Then, as I started looking around, there was tons of it. And those bins, the sort of white corrugated bins they use for the mail, there were a couple of them smashed in the street and just some piles. Pretty significant piles and then just mail scattered everywhere.' The video shows letters and parcels of various sizes, some in piles, spread out over several car lengths. Monterrey estimated there may have been hundreds of pieces of mail. 'I didn't know what to do because you can't call the post office at 4 in the morning. No one is answering the phone,' said Monterrey. 'I called 911 and no one answered the phone. I thought I don't know if I should call police, but someone needs to get the mail off and it's not my job. What am I going to do?' Monterrey then headed to her office, and another co-worker who showed up shortly after informed her that someone, believed to be a mail worker, was cleaning up the mess. So how did it get there? That remains unclear. It's worth noting the U.S. Postal Service has a major St. Louis processing facility less than a mile away at 1720 Market Street. 'My theory here is it probably fell off a truck because it didn't look like stuff that was being delivered by a postal carrier,' said Monterrey. 'It looked like stuff that was being trucked somewhere else.' FOX 2 reached out to a USPS spokesperson for comment, who provided this brief statement, but nothing more: 'We're making every effort to ensure all mail has been recovered and delivered timely.' It's unclear how many pieces of mail may have been scattered or whether any deliveries were damaged or delayed. FOX 2 will update if new information becomes available. John Cena Closes Rivalry With Randy Orton Thanks to Cheap Shot at 'Backlash'

John Cena may have ended his feud with Randy Orton for good. Cena put the top male prize on the "WWE SmackDown" brand at stake against his old rival Randy Orton at "Backlash 2025." It was an Undisputed WWE Championship that featured outside interference, which the 17-time world champion took full advantage of. Advertisement Orton was setting up for a punt kick when R-Truth prevented "The Viper" from striking. R-Truth took an RKO for his efforts. Cena ended up hitting Orton with a low blow before clocking him with a shot from his championship. He then pinned Orton to successfully defend the title. Orton had the hometown advantage, as "Backlash" was held inside Enterprise Center in St. Louis. It wasn't enough for "The Viper" to win his 15th world championship, as Cena bent the rules to keep his historic 17th world title reign intact. Many wondered if Cody Rhodes would make a surprise appearance, but it wasn't meant to be. Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 20. Advertisement Cena was the one who ended Rhodes' reign with the Undisputed WWE Championship. The two headlined "WrestleMania Sunday." Cena pinned Rhodes after a belt shot to the head and interference from music star Travis Scott. Fans are now left to wonder when Rhodes will get his rematch against Cena. Rhodes is reportedly scheduled to be back on the road full-time soon. Whether he'll rekindle his rivalry with Cena upon his return remains to be seen, but it's been expected by many fans.
