Gujarat Confidential: Improving efficiency
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in Ahmedabad has established the PGP Executive Committee (PGPEC) to provide guidance for strengthening the academic regulations of its postgraduate programmes. These programmes include the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Entrepreneurship (PGDM-E), Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (PGDM-IEV), and the online PGDM programme. The committee members include senior visiting faculty at EDII Mayank Upadhyay, Prof Saswata Narayan Biswas of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat National University Registrar Nitin Mailk and EDII's Department of Entrepreneurship Education Director Satya Ranjan Acharya. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) alumnus and founder of Nayan Parikh and Consultants, Nayan Parikh, has also been invited to be a member of this committee. 'The committee will also advise and undertake measures to enhance the overall efficiency and quality of the programmes,' EDII stated.

Colleges to get Rs 10L aid for incubation setups
Panaji: The state has made a new scheme operational, under which colleges in Goa will be provided Rs 10 lakh aid to establish incubation centres within their premises. This is to boost the interest of youth and encourage them to come up with new startups, chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday. Sawant said that the state distributed Rs 4 crore in subsidies for startups so far and that govt is offering up to Rs 10 lakh as seed funding to Goan startups, salary support of Rs 15,000 for 10 persons employed at the start-up, and an additional Rs 25,000 for those hiring Goan staff. 'We are offering subsidies for co-working space for internet and cloud services, and we are reimbursing sums spent on research and development,' said Sawant while interacting with the students of Dempo College. He said the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India opened its branch at the Economic Development Corporation and will help anyone desiring to set up a business with handholding. 'Anyone who wants to do a business can approach them and they will do the handholding about what type of business, what skill you have and what the future is. A state data centre will also be started in Goa,' the chief minister said, adding that at present, 635 recognised start-ups are operational in Goa. Arunachal youths get lessons in entrepreneurship
Itanagar: In a push to boost entrepreneurship among the youths of Arunachal Pradesh, the industries department has launched a week-long entrepreneurship development programme (EDP) in collaboration with the Ahmedabad-based Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India ( EDII ). The initiative, inaugurated by state industries and skill development minister Nyato Dukam, aims to bridge the gap in professional training and equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills needed to launch and sustain successful ventures. Thirty carefully selected participants from 14 districts of the northeastern state are attending the programme, which covers key areas such as business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, digital tools, and awareness about government schemes. Addressing the participants, Dukam said entrepreneurship is a vital tool for economic growth.
