Toyota begins Environment Month 2025 with focus on sustainable resource management

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) kicked off its Environment Month 2025 today, emphasising its commitment to sustainability under the theme 'Sustainable Resource Management Drive.' Aligned with the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 and the global vision of 'Enhancing Awareness Towards Realising Toyota Global Vision 2050,' the initiative promotes a culture of sustainability across TKM's operations and value chain. This year's campaign introduces 'Zero-Base Thinking,' a strategy to reevaluate resources from scratch, retaining only those with genuine value to drive efficiency through the 4Rs: Refuse, Recycle, Reuse, and Marking over 25 years of environmental leadership in India, TKM's Environment Month 2025, themed 'Journey to Green @ 25,' highlights key milestones, including 100% renewable energy for grid electricity, 89.3% reliance on recycled water and rainwater for production, and 96% waste recyclability at its facilities. TKM's Ecozone, a 25-acre experiential learning centre with 17 educational theme parks, has engaged over 42,000 students and stakeholders in fostering ecological awareness.'At TKM, environmental stewardship is at the core of our philosophy,' said B. Padmanabha, Executive Vice President and Director – Manufacturing, TKM. 'Environment Month is a call to action for our entire value chain to contribute to a greener future through transformative solutions and sustainable innovations.'The 'TKM Sustainable Hub 2025' will drive this year's activities, featuring a weekly sustainable stall series with highlights like a Green Expo showcasing student models from the Toyota Technical Training Institute, a 'Wealth from Waste' initiative promoting upcycling, a Green Exhibition of eco-friendly products, and a Tech Show displaying sustainable energy solutions like solar stoves and electric eco initiatives include a push for a plastic-free future, targeting zero plastic packaging by 2030, with immediate steps like a 5% reduction in parts packaging and eliminating plastic bottles, covers, and cutlery by July 2025. Other efforts involve promoting a circular economy through upcycled products, reducing CO2, water, and paper usage, and expanding afforestation through sapling distribution and plantation drives. Community engagement will also ramp up, with outreach to schools, ITI colleges, and local communities to foster an eco-conscious encourage innovation, TKM will recognise outstanding environmental contributions from employees, suppliers, dealers, and logistics partners. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is celebrating 'World Environment Day' by launching a comprehensive 'Environment Month' initiative. Throughout June 2025, HMIL shall be rolling out a series of innovative and customer-centric activities to promote eco-conscious practices among customers. Commenting on the initiative, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said 'At HMIL, sustainability is not a one-day affair but a core value that drives our innovation, products and community initiatives. This Environment month, we are empowering our customers to help them take meaningful actions, be it through responsible driving, eco-conscious vehicle care or transitioning to electric mobility. Together, we can co-create a greener, more sustainable future.' Key Highlights of HMIL's Environment Month 2025 Campaign: Hyundai Bluelink Championship: The 30-day challenge aims to foster responsible driving among Hyundai's connected car users. HMIL will plant one sapling for every customer that maintains a Bluelink Driving score of 90 or above in the month of June 2025. The initiative aims at making every eco-conscious drive count toward a greener tomorrow. Free Electric Charge on World Environment Day: To celebrate World Environment Day and support the growing community of EV users, HMIL is offering 100% cashback on electric charging expenses, made via the Hyundai In-Car Payment system for the first 1,000 Hyundai CRETA Electric customers. This exclusive one-day offer not only reduces the cost of green mobility but also underscores HMIL's commitment to accelerating India's electric vehicle transition. Dry Wash Campaign: In its continued efforts to conserve water, HMIL is promoting the adoption of Dry Wash services at all its workshops. By switching to this method, customers can help save approximately 120 litres* of water per car. To further encourage participation, HMIL is offering attractive discounts on service labour charges on Environment Day, blending eco-awareness with customer value.
