Sedgwick County offices could move to new building
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Sedgwick County is moving forward with a new administrative building. On Wednesday, Sedgwick County Commissioners approved buying the Envision building at 610 N. Main Street, near the Sedgwick County Courthouse. The county is buying the building for under $12 million. It is one of about a dozen buildings county staff have examined over the last decade. 'This is the people's building, so we didn't want to favor necessarily one district over another, so we wanted a center footprint. That was number one. Number two, there were unique parking needs for this. This has to be a commercial office-type of building, which begins to narrow down our options,' Sedgwick County Manager Tom Stolz said. Wichita basketball player dies after suffering brain bleed County staff will now work to determine how much it will cost to remodel the building. The county can back out of the deal. The county leases space for its administrative offices at the Ruffin Building. For more Kansas news, click here.
