MACC communications officers enhance public messaging effectiveness

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) communications liaison officers are instrumental in ensuring the agency's messages reach the public clearly and effectively. Working closely with the Strategic Communications Division, these officers bridge the gap between MACC and the media, ensuring transparency and public trust. Hisyam Mohd Yusoff, director of the division, highlighted the officers' role in refining communication strategies. He emphasised their importance in delivering accurate information through mainstream and social media channels. 'We hope that the appointed officers will develop their interest, showcase their talents, and contribute meaningfully to the MACC's communication efforts,' he said. The recent Joint Management Enhancement Programme, attended by 40 liaison officers nationwide, aimed to sharpen their media management skills. Held over three days, the training focused on crafting news reports and feature articles. Bernama's Features and Current Affairs Desk assistant editor, Erda Khursyiah Basir, guided participants in writing techniques that ensure clarity and impact. The programme also reinforced the importance of concise language in official communications. Officers later shared internal guidelines on news writing formats to maintain consistency in media publications. Looking ahead, the division plans to expand training with state-level writing workshops later this year. These efforts align with MACC's commitment to transparency and public engagement. - Bernama

Santuni MADANI: Bernama Holds Workshop To Foster Creative Thinking Among Students

GENERAL SEPANG, June 24 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) continues to play its role in encouraging creative thinking among students through the Creative Thinking Workshop held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Batu Laut here today, in line with the Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung (One Leader One Village) Santuni MADANI initiative. The one-day workshop aimed to boost students' self-confidence in generating new ideas while enhancing their higher-order thinking (HOT) and critical thinking skills, particularly in writing and problem-solving. Bernama Features Desk assistant editor Erda Khursyiah Basir, who conducted the workshop, said the activities received encouraging response and were effective in prompting students to think outside the box. 'They are very enthusiastic and eager to learn new things. For example, when they see a problem, they do not stick to just one solution. Instead, they think more openly and look at it from various angles. 'We also encouraged students to come forward and share their creative ideas and to speak up with confidence while also showing respect and courtesy when expressing themselves,' she said when met here. Meanwhile, SMK Batu Laut principal Johan Mohalana Abd Hamid said the programme played a significant role in boosting students' confidence and helping to improve their academic performance, especially in preparation for examinations. He said the exposure provided through the workshop could help students recognise their potential and assist them in choosing the right academic path and future career. Form Four student Nurul Izzah Zamri said the workshop was both fun and informative, with content presented in a clear and engaging way. 'I hope Bernama will continue to organise similar programmes to inspire creative and innovative thinking among students,' said the student, who aspires to become a surgeon.
