Erie Philharmonic brings back summer concert series
A popular music series is returning this summer. The Erie Philharmonic will be hosting its 'In Your Hometown' summer concert series from July 10 through August 6. Erie Philharmonic Music Director Daniel Meyer is excited to share the Philharmonic's music with the public. 'Our free outdoor concerts have become a popular tradition, with audiences across Erie County bringing picnic blankets, lounge chairs, and some food and drink as they hear us in a casual atmosphere,' he says. Splash Lagoon offering special ticket pricing for Erie Co. residents Concerts will take place in Corry, Meadville, North East, Girard and Edinboro. Depending on the date and location, the public can expect to hear the Philharmonic orchestra, brass ensemble or chamber ensemble. Meadville community leaders break ground on new outdoor amphitheater
Community leaders in Meadville broke ground on a new outdoor amphitheater expected to become a hub for entertainment, celebrations, and gatherings of all kinds. What's being named the PNC Pavilion will be built at the Meadville Area Recreation Complex. Millcreek government study commission works for finalize recommendation The renderings show it to be a covered stage, and seating surrounding the pavilion can hold up to 900 people. The executive director said Meadville residents have been asking for new things to do in the community, and they figured this entertainment venue could be an excellent place to start. Erie Philharmonic presents new Beatles themed multimedia show 'So there's so many things that we know we want to use this for. Preschool graduations, dance classes, art classes, yoga, concerts, benefits, family reunions, just anything anybody can come up with. That's one good thing about the Marc is we believe that there's something here for everybody,' said Aaron Rekich, executive director of the Meadville Area Recreation Complex. Splash Lagoon to host special Mother's Day weekend event
(WJET/WFXP) – A local water park is showing their appreciation for women in the community. On Saturday, May 10, Splash Lagoon will host a special Mother's Day event to celebrate the important women in our lives. Erie Philharmonic presents new Beatles themed multimedia show The event will feature a VIP ice cream social, princess dance party and moms will receive free admission into the park on Mother's Day. General manager Ryan Cherry spoke about why the park is hosting the event. Shelter animals strut their stuff at Erie Humane Society's fourth annual Mutt Gala 'It's our way of showing appreciation for all the amazing moms who bring joy to their families. Erie Philharmonic announces 2025-26 season lineup
The Erie Philharmonic's 2025-26 season doesn't start for another six months but the excitement is growing after a big announcement Wednesday night. Music director Daniel Meyer announced the lineup for the upcoming symphonic and pops series. 'On the pop side, we're going to be playing a tribute to John Williams the great movie composer. We're also featuring Raiders of the Lost Ark, a full-feature film with a live orchestra. Wonderful Michael Cavanaugh who sings the music of Billy Joel. And then on the symphonic side, we have the music of Mozart, Mahler, Rachmaninoff and Dvorak's New World Symphony,' Meyer said.
