Summer Camp at the Bush House
Apr. 10—The Bush Family Home State Historic Site is holding Summer Camps in June and July this year. They will hold summer camps two days a week every other week in June and July. There will be four days total for each age group. The age groups will be from kindergarten to 2nd grade, and from 3rd grade to 6th grade.
They will have Cowboy Day, 1950s Games, Bicycle Safety, and STEM. You can sign your kiddos up for all four days, a few of them, or just one day. Each camp is from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $50 per camp per child.
Grades 3-6:
— June 3: Cowboy Day
— June 5: 1950s games
— July 8: Bicycle Safety
— July 10: STEM
Grades K-2:
— June 17: Cowboy Day
— June 19: 1950s Day
— July 22: Bicycle Safety
— July 24: STEM
The summer camp series is part of a whole statewide campaign at Texas Historical Commission sites. Other camps can be found at The camps are meant to foster a deep appreciation for our state's history.
"We are going to have so many fun activities and lots to learn! We've been working on this since last summer! It's going to be a lot of fun!" Educator Erin Frigo said in a news release.
