Molino shooting victim arrested hours later following unrelated domestic dispute: ECSO
MOLINO, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of shots being fired on Cedartown Rd in Molino on Tuesday morning. Santa Rosa County career fair set for military, veterans and their families Deputies said two cousins traveled from Atmore to a Molino home around 4 o'clock in the morning. 'A male and a female who are cousins arrive at the female's boyfriend's house. The female goes up to the door and discovers there's another female in that house. That ultimately leads to a fight that takes place right around the doorway,' Sheriff Chip Simmons of ECSO said. That's when deputies said 45-year-old Edward Lewis came out of the house and fired shots. One of those shots struck 36-year-old Aundray Butler. Lewis was arrested was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, claiming the shooting was an act of self-defense. Butler, who deputies said gave them a fake name, was taken to the hospital. After he was released, deputies said Butler was involved in another incident at a local hotel. 'We got a call on an unrelated domestic dispute and we ended up going other there this time we ascertained his true identity, found out that he had warrants on him for felony domestic violence,' Simmons said. UPDATE: Mobile police identify 2 men killed in industrial incident Butler was arrested on a slew of charges, including aggravated battery, simple assault, drug possession and fraud-impersonation for giving a false ID to law enforcement officers. Escambia County deputy shoots at armed suspect — FDLE investigating
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to a trespassing complaint on Plantation Road Sunday night. While heading towards the call, one deputy heard several shots fired. Investigators said the suspect had a gun, prompting the deputy to open fire. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition and the extent of injuries have not been released. Investigators have not said whether the suspect's wounds were caused by the deputy or from rounds fired prior to the deputy arriving at the location.
