The next film to receive a spotlight through the initiative is the emotionally charged drama Lollipop, with free screenings taking place on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June across more than 100 cinemas nationwide, ahead of its UK release on Friday 13th June. Directed with nuance and heart by Daisy-May Hudson for her first feature film debut, Lollipop has been praised by The Guardian as 'Powerful… an impassioned, humane and urgently performed drama,' awarding it 4 stars. The film stars Posy Sterling as Molly, a young mother recently released from prison who struggles with the bureaucracy of social services to regain custody of her children. Idil Ahmed plays Amina, Molly's childhood friend and fellow single mother, who helps Molly navigate her challenges, while Terriann Cousins portrays Sylvie, Molly's mother. As Molly reconnects with Amina, the two women form a deep bond that empowers them to reclaim control over their lives in the face of a system stacked against them. A story of resilience, sisterhood, and determination, Lollipop is a compelling exploration of second chances and unbreakable hope. Ford Bronco Sport, Escape Recalled (Again) for Possible Fuel Leak

Ford is recalling 15,355 Bronco Sports (2021–2023 models) and 18,221 Escapes (2020–2022 models) due to a possible fuel leak. These models have the 1.5-liter engine and were previously recalled for the same issue, but the fix wasn't actually completed. Ford will cover the recall-related repair for free, and owners will be notified by mail by May 1. No, it's not déjà vu. Ford is once again recalling the Bronco Sport and Escape due to a possible fuel leak on models with the turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine. The latest recall stems from a recall earlier this month for the same issue, which the company says wasn't correctly fixed the first time. The issue affects 2021 to 2023 Bronco Sports and 2020 to 2022 Escapes, which amounts to 33,576 total units. According to a recall report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford says its records show that, while the previously recalled Bronco Sports and Escapes were reported as repaired, they actually weren't. That means it's still possible for the engine's fuel injector to crack and leak fuel or fuel vapor that could interact with a hot surface and possibly start a fire. The fix itself requires updating the software for the vehicles' powertrain control module. However, during the original recall, the tool to do this didn't properly upload the software, so owners will need to return to their local Ford dealership to try again. The work will be done for free, and Ford says it will notify dealers by April 24; owners will be notified by mail by May 1. Free family cinema screenings coming to Glasgow for 'the perfect family day out'

A cinema initiative has announced its first family-friendly free screening. Escapes is offering a sneak preview of the animation, The Sloth Lane. The showing will be held in the Omniplex, Grosvenor Picture Theatre and Cumbernauld Theatre Trust. It will take place on February 9, ahead of its official release on February 14. Tickets for the screenings are available for sign-up now on the Escapes website. This has been supported by the BFI and National Lottery funding and has promised another year of free cinema, featuring cult classics, new previews, and award-winning films. A spokesperson for Escapes said: "Escapes is on a mission to offer families a free and exciting way to spend a Sunday together at the cinema this February by screening the funny and heartfelt animation The Sloth Lane at UK cinemas ahead of its official release. "Backed by the BFI and National Lottery funding, Escapes will continue to bring fresh films to audiences every month in 2025, providing the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a cinematic adventure together at no cost." This comes after the scheme welcomed more than 65,000 people to discover a range of independent films in 2024. In a statement on Instagram they said: "A family that cooks together, stays together. "Who's ready for a foodie adventure with The Sloth Lane? Grab your free tickets for up to two adults and three kids and get ready for a fun-filled movie experience. "Book now through the link in our bio and get ready for a perfect family day out!" These films included The Iron Claw, Kneecap, and Point Break. The Sloth Lane, the first family-friendly offering from Escapes, follows the story of a fast-paced sloth named Laura. For the first time, Escapes is allowing bookings of up to two adults and three children per order, making it easier for families to enjoy this experience together. Every screening of The Sloth Lane will also feature descriptive subtitles to ensure it is accessible to a wider audience. The initiative will announce a new film every month for the rest of the year, continuing to provide free cinema experiences for families.
