When firefighters arrived, they found flames and heavy smoke coming from a ground-level apartment. Officials said no one was home at the time. Firefighters entered the apartment and found flames in the kitchen area, which were spreading into the walls and moving toward the second floor, according to officials. By 9:30 p.m., officials said the fire was under control. Officials said the damage was mainly limited to the one apartment unit, but three other units received minor to moderate smoke damage.
