After last season's achievement - and some might still argue underachievement - Nottingham Forest will undoubtedly hope to improve on a seventh-place finish and an FA Cup fans, we have to hope that means the squad improvements continue, the new signings settle and the existing players maintain their performance from last Espirito Santo's tactics will develop to increase possession, be more proactive with the ball and dominate some games, particularly where the opposition hand us the European adventure is one to be excited about and greater squad depth will hopefully see us balance competitions both at home and abroad, with eyes on a top-five course, the fear factor is that last season was a one-off and all the other Premier League teams will have strengthened to the extent that breaking into the top six or seven will be beyond those without the revenues to spend Europe is undoubtedly something everybody is eyeing gleefully, the prospect of playing in excess of 50 games will be a challenge for a squad that ran out of steam last will Nuno be found out if a low possession, counter-attacking approach does not work this time around? Or, indeed, if our squad depth and injury situation hinders rather than helps a new contract for Morgan Gibbs-White and additional arrivals will hopefully see us in good stead. Esselink living the European dream

Bert Esselink is determined to help prolong Dundee United's European adventure after the memorable 2-2 draw at Rapid Goodwin's men showed admirable grit in the Austrian capital to twice come from behind with goals from Max Watters and Zac Sapsford and make it all to play for in next Thursday's second leg at Stockholm or FC Gyor await the winners of the tie in the Conference League play-off round."We are in it and let's stay in it the longest we can," said Dutch defender Esselink."I think for everyone in the team, it's something that you watch during Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. You watch the games in Europe and that's something everyone wants to be a part of."Esselink, a summer arrival from Polish side Stal Mielec, was pleased with United's gritty display in Vienna but stressed there's still room for improvement."Ofcourse, it's a boost for us, especially in the second half to make the draw," he said."So yeah, that gives us confidence. We have to keep working, put up the same performance and maybe change a few parts of the game that we can do better."We need to have the confidence and the pride to proceed and go well on Thursday night."I think we can get a bit more pressure on them. But also the way we're marking crosses and where we conceded the goals."We have to do it better in our communication and our positioning. So that's things we have to work on and we have to do it fast."

This Portuguese Town Has Been Ranked as Europe's Best Hidden Gem for a 2025 Summer Vacation

From the hustle and bustle of pursuing the best things to do in Barcelona, to the climb (and climb, and climb) towards one of the best restaurants in Lisbon, there's much to be said for the restorative power of a sun-soaked European adventure. However, as much as the big-hitters will forever draw us back with their buzzy new openings, sometimes it pays to go off-grid. Property rental platform HomeToGo have devised a methodology to uncover a handful of destinations that offer scenic views, fascinating attractions, fabulous food, and more—without the crowds. HomeToGo, which, at the time of writing, has almost 7.5 million holiday homes available from more than 19,500 partners, has rummaged through its locations for 2025's best hidden gems, many of which make for fabulously affordable alternatives to larger cities. None of the top 50 destinations appear on the list of the top 5,000 most-searched destinations across HomeToGo's European domains for holiday accommodation stays during summer 2025, meaning there are plenty of sleek addresses waiting to be snapped up. To crunch the numbers, the team assigned each destination a score for the following categories: heat score, under-the-radar score, scenic setting score, rising star score, wander score, gastronomy score, and accommodation score. More details on HomeToGo's methodology can be found here. Destinations range from wild corners of Wales in the UK to charming French communes and Greek cities we'd never previously considered making a beeline for. If you require some alternative summer inspiration, these are the best hidden gems in Europe ripe for an escape in the coming months. Beaumaris, Wales, UK While the charming town of Beaumaris, found on the Welsh island of Anglesey, ranks low on the heat score, it's one of the best-performers for the scenic setting score. Anyone who's experienced the lush, sweeping landscapes and dazzling beaches nearby will attest to this being one of Europe's best hidden gems. 9. Labeaume, France You'll find the intriguing commune of Labeaume between the Beaume gorges in southern Ardèche. Ancient homes give way to medieval castles via mysterious caves, with panoramic views awaiting atop valley peaks. It has the second-best accommodation cost score, with the median nightly price per person for a holiday home just £32 (about $43).
