(KRON) — Three teens and a man were arrested on Tuesday following a violent robbery in San Mateo, police said. The San Mateo Police Department responded at 5:58 p.m. to the 100 block of South Humboldt Street on the report of a strong-arm robbery. The victim told officers that three people got out of a Honda vehicle driven by a fourth suspect and punched him in the face several times. The trio stole his cell phone, boxing gloves and Apple AirPods before getting back into the Honda and fleeing. The victim told the responding officers that he recognized three of the suspects and provided their first names. Following the attack, a San Mateo officer saw a vehicle similar to the reported Honda near El Camino Real and 12th Avenue and conducted a traffic stop, police said. Four individuals inside the vehicle were detained while the victim arrived to identify the suspects as the same as those involved in the robbery. Police identified the driver as Ever Jacabo-Castro, 21, of Foster City. Two of the three passengers were 17-year-old boys, and the other was a 14-year-old boy, according to authorities. All four were arrested and booked for second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
