Liverpool 1-0 Everton - the fans' verdict
We asked for your views on Liverpool's Premier League win over against are some of your comments:Liverpool fans Tommy: Hard-won game with Everton parking the bus and time-wasting. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah's form has dropped dramatically and both were carried throughout the match while Andy Robertson and Ibou Konate were best at the back. Luis Diaz was like a wasp at a picnic and Dominik Szoboszlai never stopped running. We do need to play better Not a great performance but we'll take the three points. If one of our players did what James Tarkowski did, it would have been a straight red immediately without any need for VAR. It was never going to be easy against this Everton team and their tactics so it feels even more satisfying to come out on top after a war of attrition. The team was the star here in battling for every ball. That said, the standard of officiating on the pitch and in the VAR booth was woeful On the whole we deserved the win but I was concerned how easy our centre-backs were beaten by Beto. Poor defending by both at times and they are world class . And what has happened to Salah? It was like playing with 10 men. That said three hard-fought points and we move Great way to bounce back from a difficult period and no better opponent than our enemies across Stanley Park. Diaz gave 100% throughout and it was a well-taken goal from Jota. And please cut Salah some slack - he has been quiet recently but that is just natural - he's not going to score or assist every game. Just need to keep the machine going for another eight fansLee: A decent hard-working performance, and definitely a red card! But the game was won by a goalscorer, which sadly is something we lack! Tough run of games to play but it's in our own hands to stay Decent performance but was expecting more. Doucoure and Harrison were a complete waste of time and should not get on the pitch again this season. We should play Broja or Chermiti instead of Beto if they are going to be the We could - and might even should - have been ahead with Beto's chance. That's the crucial moment in the match for me. Not the two VAR decicions. But on those matters: Tarkowski was lucky to get away with a yellow and he defended clumsily for their goal. Instead of critising the VAR for a possible offside, we should rather be critical at Tarkowski. He has become a liability this The right result. We didn't create too much and the massive difference of Liverpool's spend on their squad compared to ours ultimately showed through. Might have been different if Beto had scored rather than hitting the post, but the gulf in class will need to be closed if we hope to get anywhere near European spots, starting with a major overhaul this Not the best performance from Everton but considering the injuries list it wasn't bad. I'll take a 1-0 defeat at Anfield by the champions elect. But we must invest in the summer.

'The 3pm fear has gone!'
We asked you what one thing nobody is talking about in relation to are some of your comments:Daydreaming Believer: It's a huge summer for the club and we've so many players that are due to leave either on the end of contract or expiry of loan deals. It's not just a symbolic leaving of Goodison there could be a dozen players leaving too! That's a massive opportunity for Moyes and the Friedkin Group to get the squad they want, which we haven't been able to do for the past few summers for a variety of reasons. Trust in Moyes. Come on, you blue boys!Andy: It's not exactly a big secret but Jake O'Brien's rise to the first team won't go unnoticed. Everyone is worried about Jarrad Branthwaite leaving but O'Brien would be as disappointing to lose. Need to keep this strong defence What Jesper Lindstrom offers to our team goes a bit under the radar because of his low goals/assists. Just thinking back to the Tottenham game - even West Ham the other day - when he, Broja and Chermiti came off the bench and all changed the game. He offers us something different and I think he'd be a decent signing in the summer if we were to try to negotiate a good deal with No-one is talking about the health of Evertonians. For the first time in three years, heart rates have normalised, stress rash is subsiding and the 3pm fear has I am concerned with the squad we have and players' contracts being due up. While I am aware the next window is some time away, it will soon creep up and be over quickly.

'That Goodison crowd always is mental'
We asked for your favourite Merseyside derby memories before Wednesday's final Goodison Park meeting between Liverpool and are some of your replies:Peter: It was 6 December 1969. I was 13 years old. Nil-nil at half time. Minutes after the break, Emlyn Hughes scored from a ball from Cally [Ian Callaghan] - 0-1, it was anyone's game. Then it happened. A cross came over from Thommo [Peter Thompson] but Everton full back Sandy Brown had it covered. With a spectacular diving header he sent the ball into his own net. I was at the front and could see the round, muddy mark of the ball on the right side of his forehead for the rest of the game. A great game, a great win for Liverpool at Goodison. But, all we were talking about for weeks, months perhaps even years after was Sandy Brown's amazing own I was nine and went to the derby at the beginning of the 1966-67 season. To see Ray Wilson and Roger Hunt parading the recently won World Cup is a vision that I'll never Went to Goodison as a Reds fan in 2001 - Riise with his run and Gerrard with his first derby goal at Goodison. Won 3-1, sat in top tier of the main stand - wow that was steep. Had to climb up the steps, was a ground to behold in the 80s. Can understand leaving but that Goodison crowd always is When the all-time record goalscorer for Liverpool scored four goals at Goodison Park. Kopites still sing about that night 40 odd years on.

Brighton 0-1 Everton - the fans' verdict
We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's Premier League game between Brighton and are some of your comments:Brighton fansSE: Every year Everton and Jordan Pickford come to the Amex and time-waste. The officials are oblivious to it and they need training. How we lost is beyond me but we were toothless up top We were half the team that we had been against Man Utd. We deserved nothing. Little energy, little desire. Creativity almost non-existent. A real anti-climax to a great We could have played all night and not scored. It was vital to get the first goal and apart from a couple of early occasions we never got behind the Everton full-backs and completely ran out of ideas of how to break down a strong defence guarding a one-goal lead. Joel Veltman knew what he was doing for the handball and didn't have his best game. Another frustrating Absolutely rubbish - no attacking ideas, stale. Buy someone fansPaul: Sometimes, particularly away from home, you just have to win ugly. So, obviously very poor going forward and in possession but a hard-working midfield and solid defence should guarantee we are in the Premier League in the new stadium. At this stage, that's all that matters for The Moysiah has come back to keep us in the Premier League and lead us into the new stadium as a top flight side. I am utterly delighted he's come back, and at this stage care only about results, not necessarily performances. They will come in Bit disjointed at the back largely but still dug in and defended as a pack. A more pacy outlet is needed to ease the pressure at the back. The players' reactions on the field and the dugout at full-time speaks volumes. This is down to the change of manager who values every A superb away win showing team spirit, commitment and resolve. Our depleted ranks held firm but we might have suffered some vital injury losses. If ever we needed reinforcement, it's certainly now.
