NFL player Jake McQuaide causes scene in church, demands answers in archdiocese porn scandal—escorted out by police
NFL long snapper Jake McQuaide challenges church mid-Mass over shocking porn claims, gets removed (Getty Images) NFL players often make headlines for their performances on the field, but former Rams long snapper Jake McQuaide made waves for a completely different reason — and in a place far from any football stadium. On a quiet Saturday morning at Our Lady of the Visitation Church in Green Township, Ohio, McQuaide stood up during Mass and demanded answers from the Cincinnati Archdiocese regarding troubling rumors about clergy misconduct. Tense moment as NFL's Jake McQuaide interrupts church to confront clergy in pornography scandal probe It was an extraordinary moment for a man whose professional career has been built on consistency and discretion. Long snappers rarely find themselves in the spotlight, but McQuaide — a two-time Pro Bowler and veteran of 14 NFL seasons — didn't hesitate to speak out when he felt silence had gone on long enough. The confrontation occurred as Jason Williams, chancellor of the Cincinnati Archdiocese, was reading a prepared letter from Archbishop Robert Casey. The letter addressed controversial claims that two priests had allegedly accessed pornography using a parish computer. While the statement emphasized that 'no wrongdoing — either criminally or ecclesiastically — has been substantiated,' McQuaide wasn't content to let the issue rest there. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo Ex-Rams long snapper sparks chaos in Mass, demands justice in archdiocese's porn scandal (Credit: USA Today Sports) 'Please take a second. We want to put these rumors to rest. Can you answer this for me, fact or fiction?' McQuaide asked, invoking the spirit of Sister Aloysius from the 2008 film Doubt. He continued, 'Did the priest use our parish computer to look at pornography? …True or false? True or false?' "You can look at pornography at your house, but you cannot do it here.' A tense moment unfolded in the sanctuary as churchgoers looked on. When someone at the altar suggested it wasn't the right time or place, McQuaide responded, 'I'm sorry, sir, this is the time and the place. I will stand up.' His outburst was met with swift action — two Green Township police officers escorted him out. However, no charges were filed. At the center of the controversy is a report made earlier this year by church member Todd Zureick. According to a WCPO investigation and a report in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Zureick claimed to have seen explicit thumbnails and links to disturbing VR role-play content involving sexual assault and occult themes on a church-owned laptop. The allegations were serious enough to merit an internal investigation, but the church maintained that nothing criminal or ecclesiastically inappropriate had been found. 'Like gossip, the spreading of rumors is sinful, and we should all work to overcome this tendency of our fallen human nature,' the letter from Archbishop Casey read. Yet for McQuaide, who grew up in the area and attended Elder High School — a Catholic institution within the same diocese — the issue seemed too serious to ignore. With 197 NFL games under his belt, and a reputation built on discipline and precision, McQuaide's decision to speak out publicly speaks volumes about his personal convictions. Ex-Rams DT Aaron Donald named among the top-25 best college players since 2000
Ex-Rams DT Aaron Donald named among the top-25 best college players since 2000 The Los Angeles Rams drafted a generational player when they took Pittsburgh defensive lineman Aaron Donald with the No. 13 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Donald put together a likely Hall-of-Fame NFL career, but he was also one of the best college players of the past 25 seasons, according to The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. Feldman ranked Donald the No. 20 player on his top-25 college players since 2000 list. "Everything Donald was doing in the NFL for the Rams he first did for Pitt," Feldman wrote. "He had at least 16 tackles for loss in three consecutive seasons, capping his career by winning just about every college award a D-lineman can get in 2013: the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award. "'His production was off the charts,' said NFL Network's Bucky Brooks, a former NFL scout. 'It was ridiculous for a D-tackle to have that kind of stuff. He dominated.' "In all, his 67 tackles for loss lead all defensive tackles in the 2000s." Donald finished his collegiate career with 29.5 sacks, 67 tackles for a loss and six forced fumbles. Those are impressive numbers over just 51 games, but they paled in comparison to his NFL production. Donald totaled 111 sacks, 176 tackles for a loss and 24 forced fumbles in 154 career games over 10 seasons. His work led to a Pro Bowl selection in all 10 seasons as well as eight first-time All-Pro teams and three Defensive Player of the Year awards. While this was a college-only list, Donald proved that his production at that level led directly to his NFL dominance.

Ex-Rams LT Andrew Whitworth credited with pushing for new NFL award
Ex-Rams LT Andrew Whitworth credited with pushing for new NFL award Andrew Whitworth hasn't played in the NFL since 2021, but he's still helping out his fellow offensive linemen. After the NFL announced a new Protector of the Year award for offensive linemen, Los Angeles Rams president Kevin Demoff posted on X that Whitworth played a big role in pushing for offensive linemen to be recognized. "Credit to @AndrewWhitworth and others for 'pushing' for offensive linemen to be recognized," Demoff wrote. "Long overdue and deserving." Buffalo Bills offensive linemen Dion Dawkins also played a role in the new award, per ESPN's Brooke Pryor. Whitworth was one of the best offensive linemen during his time in the NFL. He was named to four Pro Bowls (one of which with the Rams) and two All-Pro teams (one with the Rams). Whitworth played a huge role in the Rams' Super Bowl victory in 2021 as well. The Rams still have a solid offensive line heading into 2025 with Alaric Jackson, Rob Havenstein, Steve Avila, Kevin Dotson and center Coleman Shelton.

After advancing to the NFC divisional-round last season — losing to the eventual Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles — the Rams are regarded as a Super Bowl contender. In 2017, then-first-year coach Sean McVay led the Rams to a 33-0 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at Twickenham Stadium. The previous week, the Rams played the Jaguars in Jacksonville, and then remained in the Florida city before departing for London. The next season, the Rams were scheduled to play the Kansas City Chiefs in Mexico City. But citing poor field conditions at Azteca Stadium after a Shakira concert, the NFL moved the 'Monday Night Football' game to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Rams defeated the Chiefs, 54-51, in the highest-scoring game in 'Monday Night Football' history. Ex-Rams QB says Matthew Stafford inspired his no-look pass in UFL game
Ex-Rams QB says Matthew Stafford inspired his no-look pass in UFL game For two years, Bryce Perkins watched Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford make no-look passes look easy. So when he got the chance to try one in a United Football Game, Perkins didn't pass on his opportunity. Perkins, now with the Michigan Panthers in the UFL, threw a five-yard touchdown to wideout Malik Turner in a similar fashion in a 38-14 win over the visiting DC Defenders in Week 6. After the game, Perkins credited Stafford for where he learned to throw passes like that. "I was with Matthew Stafford for a while and his no look was something serious," he said. "I always said if I get a shot, I'm gonna try to do it in a game." He finished the game with 188 yards and two passing touchdowns, no interceptions, 76 rushing yards and a rushing score. Perkins, who went undrafted out of Virginia in 2020, played in five games for the Rams in 2022. He started once (a 26-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12) and threw for 161 total passing yards one score and two interceptions that season. Stafford remains one of the no-look kings of the NFL. He had a sensational no-looker to Puka Nacua in the Rams' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in last year's Divisional Round.
