On a quiet Saturday morning at Our Lady of the Visitation Church in Green Township, Ohio, McQuaide stood up during Mass and demanded answers from the Cincinnati Archdiocese regarding troubling rumors about clergy misconduct.

The confrontation occurred as Jason Williams, chancellor of the Cincinnati Archdiocese, was reading a prepared letter from Archbishop Robert Casey. The letter addressed controversial claims that two priests had allegedly accessed pornography using a parish computer. While the statement emphasized that 'no wrongdoing — either criminally or ecclesiastically — has been substantiated,' McQuaide wasn't content to let the issue rest there.

He continued, 'Did the priest use our parish computer to look at pornography? …True or false? True or false?' "You can look at pornography at your house, but you cannot do it here.'
A tense moment unfolded in the sanctuary as churchgoers looked on.
When someone at the altar suggested it wasn't the right time or place, McQuaide responded, 'I'm sorry, sir, this is the time and the place. I will stand up.'
His outburst was met with swift action — two Green Township police officers escorted him out. However, no charges were filed.
At the center of the controversy is a report made earlier this year by church member Todd Zureick. According to a WCPO investigation and a report in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Zureick claimed to have seen explicit thumbnails and links to disturbing VR role-play content involving sexual assault and occult themes on a church-owned laptop.
The allegations were serious enough to merit an internal investigation, but the church maintained that nothing criminal or ecclesiastically inappropriate had been found.
'Like gossip, the spreading of rumors is sinful, and we should all work to overcome this tendency of our fallen human nature,' the letter from Archbishop Casey read.
Yet for McQuaide, who grew up in the area and attended Elder High School — a Catholic institution within the same diocese — the issue seemed too serious to ignore. With 197 NFL games under his belt, and a reputation built on discipline and precision, McQuaide's decision to speak out publicly speaks volumes about his personal convictions.

In a bid to enforce a penalty issued over insider trading violations, Sebi has initiated recovery proceedings against fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi by freezing his financial assets, including bank, demat, and mutual fund accounts. The markets regulator issued attachment instructions on June 4 after Choksi failed to clear dues worth Rs 2.1 crore, despite a demand notice served on May 15. The dues stem from a January 2022 Sebi order that found Choksi guilty of sharing unpublished price-sensitive information in connection with trading in Gitanjali Gems shares. According to PTI, Choksi had been warned of asset seizure if the amount wasn't paid within 15 days. The outstanding sum includes a Rs 1.5 crore fine and Rs 60 lakh in interest. Choksi, who was then the chairman, managing director, and part of the promoter group of Gitanjali Gems, is currently facing extradition proceedings after being arrested in Belgium earlier this year. Sebi's attachment order directed banks, depositories CDSL and NSDL, and mutual funds to prohibit any debits from Choksi's accounts, while allowing credits. Lockers and all associated accounts have also been brought under attachment. The regulator said it acted to prevent any delay or obstruction in realising the dues. The court was hearing the appeal preferred by Anbarrasu, his father Asir David, and his mother Kasthuri, challenging the conviction and sentence imposed on them by the mahila court in Nagercoil in 2016. The prosecution's case is that Anbarrasu married Christilda Jane in 1994 in a church as per Christian rituals. A male child was born to them in 1995. Since Anbarrasu's brother married a woman from a wealthy family, he, along with his parents, ill-treated and harassed Jane, seeking more dowry. She also made a complaint in this regard to the Nagercoil All Women Police in 1999. Since Anbarrasu and Jane gave an undertaking that they would live in a separate house, the complaint was closed. Thereafter, the couple lived with their child in a rental house. Since Anbarrasu and his parents continued the harassment seeking dowry, Jane, along with her child, committed suicide by self-immolation in 2000. Challenging the same, they preferred the present appeal. During the pendency of the appeal, Asir David died, due to which the charges against him were abated. Justice K K Ramakrishnan observed that the evidence of the family members about the demand for dowry and the harassment meted out to the deceased in furtherance of the demand for dowry was cogent, clear, and without any infirmities. Hence, the court had no reason to disbelieve their testimony. They were the best persons to speak about the harassment caused to the deceased. The judge observed that in the complaint lodged in 1999, the deceased narrated all the incidents and helplessly pleaded that her family was not in a position to meet the demand for dowry. Therefore, the prosecution showed circumstances and evidence to presume the continuous dowry demand, which drove the deceased to self-immolate herself along with her child. Hence, the judge confirmed the conviction and sentence imposed on Anbarrasu and Kasthuri and dismissed the appeal preferred by them.
