Guelph father and son facing gun charges
Guelph Police say a welfare check on Thursday led to gun charges for a father and son.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the Exhibition Park neighbourhood around 2 p.m.
Police said they were there to 'check the wellbeing of a resident after concerning social media posts were reported.'
A loaded gun and unloaded shotgun were found during a search of the home.
Police said both were out in the open without trigger locks.
The 70-year-old father was charged with two counts of improper storage of a gun,
His son, a 25-year-old, was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of an unloaded firearm with ammunition and possession of a firearm without a licence.
