Back to school season is here — I've picked 9 must-have essentials for your dorm from $17
Moving to college is a huge deal and bringing the essentials to your dorm room will make that transition a whole lot easier. Fortunately, in the lead up to college season, huge retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and more are happy to offer some excellent deals to help with the move. But, with a mega offering of deals to sift through, it can be a little overwhelming to firstly pick what you want/need for your dorm room and then find the best deals. That's where I've put in the hard work for you. When I moved to college, I armed myself with some curated items (mainly with the lack of space in mind) and I've looked through all the deals to find the 9 deals I'd absolutely recommend buying right now from the Keurig K-Mini Mate for just $49 at Target to the Sony WF-C710N wireless buds for $88 at Amazon. Because what you'll really appreciate is decent active noise-cancellation to help relax or focus and slimline kit to fit into your new space. So, get yourself settled fast with these amazing deals and save yourself some money for books (psst, nights out) now. Socket space might be hard to come by in your dorm room and when you don't fancy a battle, you can turn to a trusty portable charging bank. Plus, it's great for on-the-go, too. It's super thin and super fast with enough power to charge your essentials from smartphones to tablets. Avoid running out of battery by packing up this lightweight piece of kit, just 6.9oz. When an overhead light is too anti-social but you've still got papers to write and books to read, this LED desk lamp is the perfect slimline solution and right now, it's $11 off. With five lighting modes and five brightness levels, you can adjust it to match your needs without taking up too much space. If you fancy it in Black though, you'll need to pay one dollar more. The Roku Streaming Stick Plus 2025 is the latest upgrade in Roku's lineup, replacing the previous Express 4K Plus. This newer model is smaller, faster, and more powerful, offering stunning 4K HDR and Dolby Vision streaming. With improved Wi-Fi and access to thousands of channels, it's one of the best Roku devices right now. Short on space? No problem. Keurig's smallest coffee maker ever will fit nicely into your dorm room. And, if a quick cup of coffee is what keeps you going, but you don't want to spend cafe prices, the K-Mini Mate is an excellent buy. Using single-serve pods, you pop it in, press a button and you're sorted. Now at $30 off with money saving potential all year round. The Ultimate Ears Miniroll is our top cheap pick amongst the best Bluetooth speakers, and now it's even cheaper. It's very compact and portable, as well as producing solid sound considering its miniature size. Plus, the rugged design is durable and can survive being carted around across campus. And there's a decent battery life of 16 hours to boot, all for just $49. Moving to college doesn't mean you have to give up the luxury of having snacks and drinks at hand, especially with the Frigidaire Retro Mini Fridge installed. It's stylish and compact, but still makes room for up to 15 cans or 10 liters of your favorite beverages. It's also 'whisper-quiet', so it won't bother those around you while it's keeping your items cool. The Sony WF-C710N are our budget heroes, taking the top spot for value in our best wireless earbuds guide. And fortunately, even though they're budget-priced, they still boast highly effective ANC which is a really good feature to have in your dorm. When you need to zone out and lock in, these buds have up to 33.5 hours of battery life and are extremely comfortable for long-term wear. This Beats Pill is a redesigned version of the original with improved sound, a huge 24-hour battery life, USB-C charging and IP67-rated for any moments used by the pool or at the beach. For the dorm room, it's a perfect slimline fit that can still dominate with its punchy sound. For this deal, you can grab it in Gold, Black, Red or Pink – all for the same price. In our Siena Memory Foam Mattress review, our side and back sleepers were pleased with the full-body support of the Siena all-foam mattress. So was our lone stomach sleeper, who liked that her hips didn't sink below the rest of her body. It did take a few nights for the mattress to soften slightly, though, to give that memory foam "hug." We rate the Siena as one of the best mattresses you can buy. The twin is $179, whereas the queen is $359.

Best Roku Deals: Start Streaming Your Favorite Apps With Some of the Best Gear for Less
In media streamers, Roku hangs around the top of the list. It's one of the most popular streaming brands and rightfully so. It knows what it takes to make a solid streaming stick. It's our favorite interface and a few of them have obviously made it onto our list of the best streaming devices you can buy, which should tell you a lot about the quality of Roku's wares. They're super simple and quick to set up, too. The prowess and accessibility of Roku's products make the brand well worth checking out if you need a new streaming device, especially when you can get one for less than normal. It can be difficult to know which of the different Roku options to choose so to help you find the right one at a great price, we've rounded up some of the best deals available right now below. We'll continue to update this page as offers come and go, so be sure to check back often for the best prices available. And if you're looking to fully overhaul your home entertainment setup, be sure to check out our roundups of the best TV and soundbar deals available. Amazon is offering $11 off this excellent Roku streamer, which is a 28% discount. While it's not the best deal we've seen, it's still a solid one. We like the Roku operating system because it has the most streaming app options, the simplest interface of any streaming platform and the best search. It's also content-agnostic -- it doesn't push any streaming service provider, such as Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV, over another. The Express 4K Plus is one of the cheapest streaming TV options with 4K HDR. (Even if your current TV doesn't support this format, your next one probably will.) Thanks to an AirPlay update, this Roku device is also one of the least expensive ways to connect your iPhone or other Apple device to your TV. See at Amazon With a $49 list price, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is almost $10 more than the Express 4K Plus. Along with a stick-like design, Dolby Vision HDR is the main difference between the devices -- and it's why the Streaming Stick 4K lists for more than its sibling. Right now, you can snag it for $39 at Walmart. See at Walmart The Roku Express is compact, streams only in HD and comes with an HDMI cable. It lacks a power brick to plug it in, so you'll either have to provide your own or plug the Express into the USB port in your TV. It also doesn't come with a smart remote, so you won't be able to control your TV's power, volume and inputs with this remote. You'll need both your original TV remote and a smart speaker or other receiver if you want to use voice controls. It's a big hassle, so it might make more sense to spend the extra bucks for the Roku Streaming Stick 4K. See at Amazon The budget-friendly Streambar SE is a hybrid soundbar that also doubles as a 4K streaming device. It lists for $30 less than the Roku Streambar and it's about 4 inches smaller than the full-sized counterpart. It also lacks support for Dolby Atmos audio. But for those with limited space or a tight budget, it's an excellent option -- especially at $12 off. See at Amazon

Amazon is offering notable $15 off this excellent Roku streamer, which is a 38% discount. See at Amazon With a $50 list price, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is $10 more than the Express 4K Plus. Along with a stick-like design, Dolby Vision HDR is the main difference between the devices -- and it's why the Streaming Stick 4K lists for more than its sibling. Right now, you can snag it for $9 off at Walmart. See at Amazon A combination soundbar and 4K HDR streamer, the Roku Streambar is an excellent way to "smartify" a bedroom TV with improved sound and streaming. This compact speaker will outperform the sound of just about any television, and it's especially good at elevating hard-to-understand dialogue. We've seen it dip as low as $80 during major shopping events, but right now it's only available for around $11 off the list price. See at Amazon Like the Roku Streambar above, the budget-friendly Streambar SE is a hybrid soundbar that also doubles as a 4K streaming device. It lists for $30 less and around 4 inches smaller than the full-sized counterpart, and also lacks support for Dolby Atmos audio. But for those with limited space or a tight budget, it's an excellent option -- especially at $17 off. See at Amazon Walmart's exclusive version of the Roku Ultra is almost identical to the main Ultra and features a similar design, an Ethernet port and support for 4K HDR with Dolby Vision. It comes with a remote that has a headphone jack for private listening. As for the differences between the Ultra and the Ultra LT? With this cheaper option, you'll be giving up Dolby Atmos support, a USB port, personal shortcut keys on the remote and the (very useful) remote finder feature. At its regular price of $80, it's $20 less than the regular Roku Ultra. See at Walmart The Roku Ultra, the company's flagship streamer, offers more conveniences than some of Roku's other models. It features Dolby Vision video, faster response, improved Wi-Fi and a wired Ethernet port -- particularly welcome if your home Wi-Fi is overloaded. The 2022 model is almost identical to the previous versions, but it now comes bundled with the excellent Voice Remote Pro. The Ultra is easy to set up and might be worth the upgrade for anyone interested in a fast streaming device with Dolby Vision and a wired Ethernet port. It's $17 dollars off right now but can occasionally be found for as much as $20 off. See at Amazon
