₹5 Parle-G sold for ₹2,300 in Gaza? Father's war reality claim shocks internet
A video of a kid receiving Parle-G, her favourite biscuits, from her father in Gaza has shocked social media. In the video, the man claims that the item is sold for ₹2,300 - a huge difference from its humble pricing in India - amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza war. 'After a long wait, I finally got Ravif her favorite biscuits today. Even though the price jumped from €1.5 to over €24, I just couldn't deny Rafif her favorite treat,' X user Mohammed Jawad wrote. In addition to the video, which shows Ravif receiving her biscuits, Jawad also posted a picture of her relishing the treat. Though cannot independently verify the claims in the X post, the share has taken social media by storm. While many showed sympathy, some tagged Minister of External Affairs of India S Jaishankar, urging him to send biscuits to the kid. An individual wrote, 'S Jaishankar, That baby is eating India's favourite biscuit. Look, I know we are neutral about the war. But can we please send more Parle G to Palestine? These are glucose biscuits that will help relieve the civilian population.' Another urged, "India should send some more food and medicines to Palestine.' A third posted, 'It's very saddening to see this.' A fourth remarked, 'These are my favourite biscuits, too, from my childhood.' A few on social media simply expressed their shock and surprise. has reached out to the company. This report will be updated when a response is received. According to a report by NDTV, the humanitarian aid that enters Gaza is often sold at a steep price in the black market. Dr Khaled Alshawwa, a 31-year-old surgeon based in Gaza City, told NDTV, 'The problem isn't with the original suppliers or taxation,' adding, 'These goods usually enter Gaza as humanitarian aid, free of charge. But only a minority receives them. Scarcity turns them into high-priced black market goods.' 'The closure of borders for more than three months now has allowed only a scarce amount of very basic needs that don't meet the needs of 2 million people. So when some people are able to get some, or when looting happens, these foods are being sold at very high, unaffordable prices,' the doctor continued.

Chai urges government to provide AEDs in Sarawak schools for emergency readiness
Chai practices hands-on CPR during the emergency procedure training. KUCHING (May 25): All schools across Sarawak should be equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to handle emergencies, said Datuk Jonathan Chai. The Association of Boards of Management of Chung Hua Primary Schools (SJKCs) in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Divisions president stressed that this medical equipment should serve as the first line of defence to promote safety within schools. 'The government should provide AED for every school in the state so that we will be able to respond quickly in emergencies,' he said during a seminar yesterday aimed at promoting safety awareness among teachers. More than 180 teachers from 36 SJKCs in Kuching, Samarahan, Serian and Bau took part in the event, which sought to educate them about AED usage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. Chai stressed that teachers are not just educators but also protectors, making it important for them to acquire life-saving skills and emergency know-how. Jointly organised by the association and the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Kuching branch, the seminar aimed to train participants with CPR techniques and the proper AED use. 'These skills may appear to have nothing to do with the daily teaching obligation but play a key role in saving lives when faced with emergencies,' he explained, noting that the event aimed to ensure teachers could serve as first responders in an emergency. Chai extended appreciation to the MRC Kuching branch for its knowledge-sharing and skills-demonstration, highlighting their spirit of caring and saving lives. He also thanked all headmasters, headmistresses and teachers for contributing to the seminar's success. 'We will continue to organise similar seminars or programmes to promote health and safety among our teachers,' Chai affirmed. Political secretary to the Premier Kho Teck Wan represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian to officiate at the seminar. Automated External Defibrillators Jonathan Chai lead schools

Automated External Defibrillators Market Size to Reach USD 2.20 Billion by 2030, Driven by Rising Prevalence of Cardiovascular Diseases Increases the Demand
US & Canada, May 15, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — According to a new comprehensive report from The Insight Partners, the global automated external defibrillators market is growing significantly with the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. The global Automated External Defibrillator (AED) market growth is driven by increasing awareness of sudden cardiac arrest, government mandates for AED installations in public spaces, and technological advancements enhancing device usability. Key players include Koninklijke Philips N.V., Stryker Corporation, ZOLL Medical Corporation, Nihon Kohden Corporation, and Mediana Co. Ltd., focusing on innovation and strategic partnerships to expand their global presence. To explore the valuable insights in the Automated External Defibrillators Market report, you can easily download a sample PDF of the report – Overview of Report Findings 1. Market Growth: The automated external defibrillators market is expected to reach a value of US$ 2.20 billion by 2030 from US$ 1.55 billion in 2023 at a CAGR of 4.5%. Growth in the automated external defibrillators market is mainly driven by the increased incidence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), which are responsible for more than one-third of all deaths across the world. Immediate defibrillation within a few minutes of cardiac arrest saves thousands of lives, leading to the growth in adoption of AEDs in public places as well as private spaces. Government campaigns and public access defibrillation (PAD) schemes have also picked up the pace of AED installation, assisted by legislation enforcing their presence at crowded locations. 2. Rising Cardiovascular Disease Incidence: The worldwide upsurge of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is the key driver fueling the rise of the automated external defibrillators (AED) market. CVDs such as heart attacks, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) are the prime cause of fatality worldwide. As per estimates by the World Heart Federation, over half billion people around the world continue to be affected by cardiovascular diseases, which accounted for 20.5 million deaths in 2021. This expanding health burden has increased the necessity for timely, accessible, and effective emergency treatment such as AEDs. Sudden cardiac arrest, a life-threatening expression of CVD, may strike at any moment and needs to be treated immediately by defibrillation to re-establish normal heart rhythm. AEDs are created to be easy, portable, and accessible to non-medical staff, hence an essential instrument for first-responder treatment. With decreasing survival rates by about 10% per minute without defibrillation, the presence of AEDs can greatly enhance patient outcomes. With increasing CVD cases, the risk of SCA occurrences in public places, workplaces, and homes also increases. 3. Government Support and Public Access Programs: Many governments and health agencies are actively promoting the installation and use of AEDs through public access defibrillation (PAD) programs. These programs provide for greater accessibility of AEDs in areas of high public traffic and the education of laypersons in basic life support and device operation. Regulatory agencies also require AED installations in specific facilities, and in some jurisdictions, provide financial incentives or subsidies to promote compliance. In addition, legislative improvements to Good Samaritan laws are diminishing liability issues, encouraging people to act during emergencies. Combined, these drivers are not only growing the AED market but also making a more responsive and health-aware community, one where early action can significantly enhance cardiac arrest survival. 4. Geographical Insights: In 2023, North America led the market with a substantial revenue share, followed by Europe and APAC, respectively. Asia Pacific is expected to register the highest CAGR in the automated external defibrillators market during the forecast period. India-Pakistan news: PM Modi chairs high-level meeting with top ministers, chiefs of Army, Navy and IAF
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired another round of high-level meetings with the chiefs of the armed forces, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval was also present at the meeting. The meeting was held hours before Monday's scheduled meeting between the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan. During a press conference on Sunday, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said that soon after a 'bilateral understanding' was reached between India and Pakistan on May 10, the DMGOs of the two countries had decided to 'further speak on the 12th of May… at 1200 hours to discuss the modalities that will enable the longevity of this understanding.' Earlier on Saturday (May 10), Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Pakistan's DGMO contacted his Indian counterpart. The two sides had then reached a 'bilateral understanding', agreeing to halt all military actions, on land, at sea, and in the air, effective from 5 pm on May 10. However, hours after the announcement, India accused Pakistan of violating the cessation of hostilities. India's air defence had then intercepted Pakistani drones amid a blackout in Srinagar. The escalation of conflict between India and Pakistan came after the Indian Armed Forces launched 'precision strikes' under Operation Sindoor on May 7. Under the Operation, the armed forces destroyed nine major terror camps associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national. PM Modi has been chairing regular meetings with the top government functionaries involved in the country's military and diplomatic response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
