Shoppers rush to major supermarket get their hands on a 99p mirror
Read on to find out about new stores opening across the UK DEAL STEAL Shoppers rush to major supermarket get their hands on a 99p mirror SHOPPERS are flocking to a major supermarket to get their hands on a stylish mirror for less than £1. The absolute steal was found in the middle aisle at Aldi, and the price was almost too good to be true. Advertisement 3 Shoppers were stunned to find the budget-friendly accessory in store Credit: TikTok The egg-shaped mirror sits inside a thick white frame and measures at 40 x 38 x 2.5 cm - making it the perfect bathroom or bedroom accessory. Sharing the discovery on Extreme Couponing and Bargains, the delighted customer said: "Found in the middle aisle!" She added that she'd found the Pebble Mirror in the Stowmarket store. Other shoppers couldn't believe the price and rushed to the comment section. Advertisement "You can't beat that. Fab 99p", one said. "I've got this mirror in my bathroom, I should have waited and got it for 99p, mine was the original price," wrote a second. Another asked if there were many left. The mirror is no longer available on Aldi's website, so it may only be specific stores that sell the piece as part of a clearance. Advertisement It's worth keeping in mind that not all stores stock the same items, or have the same prices. Some products may be on sale or reduced due to damage. Aldi has a store finder on its website and app so you can check on stock before making a trip. And remember that the middle aisle changes every week, so you better hurry! Advertisement This comes after the German grocer announced its expansion plans, splashing out £650million on 10 brand new stores this year. Over the next 14 weeks, ten brand new branches will open across the UK and they'll bring with them around 400 new jobs. Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff. Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals. It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers. Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process. It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock. Aldi now has more than 1,050 stores across Britain and has set its sights on 1,500 as part of its long-term plan. Each of the 10 new sites will create around 40 jobs, with staff earning at least £12.75 an hour, and even more inside the M25 at £14.05. Advertisement That's before a planned pay bump this September that'll push starting pay up again. All Aldi staff also get paid breaks, worth around £1,370 a year to the average store colleague. Alongside the new sites, Aldi will also give 30 of its existing stores a fresh new look. These will include popular locations in Manchester, Liverpool, Kent, Dorset and Scotland. Advertisement The chain's managing director of national real estate, Jonathan Neale, revealed why the company was expanding rapidly, in a statement released today. He said: "We strongly believe that everyone in Britain should have access to high quality food at our unbeatable Aldi prices. "But we know that there are still thousands of shoppers in the capital that don't yet have access to an Aldi nearby." The budget chain has tossed £55million at its capital city stores alone, with four of the new branches being in London. Advertisement These include the Wimbledon, Fulham Broadway, Orpington and Caterham (Surrey) branches. Aldi also wants to open another 100 stores in London, which would mean 3,500 new jobs in the capital. Jonathan said: "There are still thousands of shoppers – especially in London - who don't yet have an Aldi nearby. "That's not fair, and we're working hard to change that.' Advertisement So if there's not an Aldi near you now, chances are there will be soon and your weekly shop might just get a whole lot cheaper. 3 The mirror is no longer on the website Credit: Facebook 3 The mirror is just 99p in some stores Credit: TikTok

Paddling pool that's perfect for the hot weather slashed to just £10 from £20 at major chain
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PARENTS have gone wild for the perfect £10 paddling pool as temperatures soar. Families are racing to get their hands on the fun garden activity after it was slashed in price down from £20. 2 The paddling pool can be picked up from Argos Credit: Getty 2 Shoppers were thrilled with the deal Credit: Facebook The Bestway Rectangular Paddling Pool, from Argos, offers plenty of room for little ones to splash about in. It's a whopping seven-foot in length - or alternatively a nine-footer can be picked up for £17.50 down from £35. The incredible deal was shared by a savvy shopper in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group. She wrote: "Not sure if helpful to anyone but these pools are reduced in Argos, we were able to click and collect 9ft one straight away! Kind of underestimates the size of it in my tine garden haha but kids will love it." A fellow budget queen commented: "I've just got one today and waiting for it to be delivered!" Meanwhile someone else was gutted to miss out on the deal. "I just bought one full price!" They moaned. If this paddling pool doesn't take your fancy, another mum found a bargain in Smyths. The best part is you don't have to blow it up, dogs can't pop it and it folds down tiny for storage. Liv took to her TikTok page to post a video raving about the £64.99 Portable Folding Pool she nabbed from her local Smyths Toy Superstores. I'm mum in one of the world's cheapest families - we wash our crocks in the paddling pool and have barely any furniture, but have saved almost £24k In the clip, she showed how easy it was to put the pool up - unfolding it from the box and pulling out the stands attached to the sides for added stability. Liv was then seen filling the pool up, before adding some inflatables and a kids' slide for her daughter to enjoy in the water. "Highly recommend!" she captioned her video. "No dogs popping it, no blowing it up & deflating it - literally open it up and fold it back down!" In another video, Liv responded to people questioning how "sturdy" the pool is, as she demonstrated by giving it a push. While she could push the sides inwards a little, it wasn't enough to cause any water to flow out of the pool. Whereas from the inside, the sides were impossible to push outwards. Keep bugs out of your pool this summer One of the easiest ways to keep bugs out of your pool is to cover it with a dark sheet (like bin bags) when it's not in use. This can also help keep the water warm for kids as well. Bug traps around the pool can also be useful. To naturally stop bugs from coming around you can plant such as lavender, basil or mint as they hate the smell. Meanwhile, shoppers hunting for a paddling pool more suitable for tots found the perfect fit in Argos. And, the hot weather essential is scanning for 50 percent off. Priced at as little as £7.50 - down from £15 - Argos's kids paddling pool holds up to 26 litres and takes just 5 minutes to inflate. The Bestway 3ft Sunny Days Shade Paddling Pool is flying off shelves as parents rush to nab the "soft" inflatable pool in time for this week's hike in temperature. Measuring 101x97x20cm, it's designed for children over the age of 2 under the direct supervision of an adult. It also has a UV sunshade providing a safe space for kids to splash around in out of the sun. Delighted parents have called the paddling pool "great value for money" with one saying it makes for some "really cute photos". One said: "Loved this for our one year old, sun shade and low level water was perfect." Whilst another added: "I was lucky enough to get this in the sale and I'm so pleased with it. "To be honest I'd buy it at full price. My daughter loves it. Easy to set up too!" It comes as temperatures soared to highs of 26C today. Thousands of sunseekers packed out parks and beaches to bask in the sunshine. And temperatures are set to rise even more when the mercury hits 29C in parts tomorrow.
