Another Ford Recall: Fuel Pump Defect Affects 850,000 Vehicles
Ford Motor Company F has announced its 89th recall this year due to issues in its low-pressure fuel pump. According to the report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, affected models are prone to a lack of fuel delivery and subsequent engine stall as a result of low-pressure fuel pump failure. The recall will affect 850,318 Ford and Lincoln models made between 2021 and 2023. These include the 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550, as well as the 2021-2022 Mustang and the 2022 Expedition. Ford's luxury models, the 2021-2023 Lincoln Aviator and the 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, may also be part of the recall. Although the company anticipates only 10% of its recalled models to have faulty pumps, all models have to be recalled to identify the ones with the issue. As for the owners of the affected model, the company will be notifying them about the defects and later, when solutions arrive. Meanwhile, the company has warned owners of signs that might be visible prior to a possible pump failure. Signs can include a check engine light or a decrease in engine power. Failures are more likely to occur at high temperatures or if there is low fuel in the tank. Including the 89th recall, Ford estimates that over 5 million vehicles were affected by recalls in 2025. This is the second-largest recall this year, following the recall of potentially 1.1 million vehicles across 17 models due to rearview camera malfunctions. Shares of Ford have slumped 8.5% over the past year compared with the industry's 7.1% decline. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research F currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). ‘Stop Driving Now': Ford Issues Urgent Brake Recall For Super Duty Owners
Ford Motor Company has issued four new recalls impacting over 335,000 vehicles, including a serious 'Do Not Drive' order for certain Super Duty trucks due to a critical brake failure risk. The latest recalls bring Ford's total for the year to 76 separate safety actions—more than any other automaker, including General Motors, Toyota, Honda, and Volkswagen. Vehicles affected: 2025 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Built between March 19 and May 4, 2025 2,345 total units Problem: Some trucks may be missing a brake booster pushrod retaining spring, which can cause the brake pedal to disconnect, leading to total brake failure. Ford's response: The error was linked to an assembly line worker who was still in training. Ford and federal regulators have issued a 'Do Not Drive' order for affected trucks. Fix: Dealers will inspect and install the missing spring if needed. Owner notifications began going out on June 18. Vehicles affected: 2025 Mustang Mach-E 276 total units Problem: A manufacturing defect left a burr on the transmission park rod, preventing the vehicle from properly engaging in 'Park.' This could allow the vehicle to roll away when parked. Fix: Dealers will replace the transmission park rod assembly free of charge. Owners will be notified starting in July 2025. Vehicles affected: 2025 four-door Bronco 27,768 units built between January 21 and April 29, 2025 Problem: The left rear door can be opened from the inside even if the child lock is engaged. Ford attributes this to part interference, causing the child lock to malfunction. Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear door latch if necessary. Notification letters begin on June 23. Vehicles affected: 2020–2025 Ford Explorer 2020–2025 Lincoln Aviator 304,662 units Problem: The second-row seat switch bezel may have been installed incorrectly, causing the seat to unexpectedly fold or slide forward, including while driving or during a crash. Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the faulty bezel if needed. Notifications begin on June 23. Owners are advised to: Visit or to check if their VIN is affected Contact a certified Ford dealer for free repairs Super Duty truck owners should not drive their vehicles until the brake inspection is complete

Ford Announces Troubling Recall of Popular Truck
Nearly a month ago, on May 9, 2025, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed a recall from Ford of more than one million vehicles ranging over 44 different makes and models. "Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2023-2024 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles," the NHTSA announced. The more than one million vehicles may contain a software error that can cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse. Just three weeks later, the NHTSA revealed another significant recall from the car manufacturer regarding its popular F-150 Lightning, which just surpassed Tesla's Cybertruck as the best-selling electric truck on the market, according to Electrek. "Certain vehicles may have an improperly torqued nut on the ball joint which secures the front upper control arm to the knuckle assembly. An improperly torqued nut on the ball joint can result in separation of the front upper control arm from the knuckle assembly," Ford said in a statement regarding its latest recall on nearly 30,000 trucks. As far as a remedy for the manufacturing error, Ford announced owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the torque of the left and right upper control arm ball joint nut. "If the torque inspection passes, dealers will replace the nut. If the torque inspection fails, dealers will replace the knuckle and nut. There will be no charge for this service," Ford announced. "Ford provided the general reimbursement plan for the cost of remedies paid for by vehicle owners prior to notification of a safety recall in May 2023." Mailing of owner notification letters is expected to begin June 9, 2025, and is expected to be completed by June 13, Announces Troubling Recall of Popular Truck first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 2, 2025
