'I didn't know that': Michael Strahan was left stunned when he found out a family secret from former GMA colleague
Image via Michael Le Brecht II/ABC via Getty Michael Strahan , the NFL legend, has always maintained a pretty close bond with his ex and present colleagues, including his former Good Morning America colleague, Sara Haines. The NFL legend has always praised his parents, Gene and Louise Strahan, for the upbringing they provided to him, but it seems like Sara Haines might have just revealed a family secret that even Michael Strahan did not know. Michael Strahan was left shocked when he got to know a family secret from ex colleague Sara Haines The Weekend View – May 24, 2025 Recently, Michael Strahan's ex colleague Sara Haines spoke about an incident related to the NFL legend's family that she got to know before Strahan. On The Weekend View, Sara Haines said, 'I went to shoot with his parents before his father died because I wanted … to give him time with his parents … where they just talked about him. They shared with me that they ate the pig.' The pig that Sara Haines was speaking about was a family pig that the Strahan family had while Michael Strahan was growing up along with his siblings. Sara Haines added, 'I come back and I'm giving Michael a hard time, as one would, and I joked about the pig. And he's like, 'What are you talking about?' He didn't know. He didn't know 'cause they were all young.' Apparently, as revealed by Sara Haines on The Weekend View, Michael Strahan had no idea that his family ate the pig they had. When Sara Haines informed Michael Strahan about this family secret, the NFL legend called up his parents. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Sara Haines continued, 'And he called his mom. And I was like, 'I didn't mean to betray the family trust! I just thought you told him!' While Michael Strahan has not commented on the incident yet, it seems like the incident did become a funny memory for the Strahan family later as his father passed away soon after they shared the incident with Sara Haines. Michael Strahan is taking a step back from some of his work As for Michael Strahan, the NFL legend is enjoying his life as he was recently spotted at the F1 Miami Grand Prix. It also seems like Michael Strahan might just be reducing his work as he recently announced that he would not be hosting the show, The $100,000 Pyramid anymore. Back in 2016, Michael Strahan and his production company, the SMAC Entertainment, had taken over The $100,000 Pyramid and the popular game show has had a pretty successful run. While it is not clear why Michael Strahan decided to step back, it has not been confirmed if the show will be renewed for a new season. Piastri can claim another 'home' win at Imola

The 24-year-old Australian started the season disappointingly in his birthplace of Melbourne but then went to Shanghai, where he won and spoke of his 1/16th Chinese heritage. The McLaren driver's surname brings immediate recognition in Italy, land of Ferrari but also home to some of his distant relatives. The Australian received the annual Lorenzo Bandini Trophy in Brisighella on Wednesday in remembrance of the Ferrari driver who died in a fiery crash in Monaco in 1967. The award has been won by a string of champions including Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. "Considering I don't drive for the team in red, it was impressive to see how many people were there," Piastri told reporters of the ceremony. "Also to meet some of my now very, very distant relatives, from where my family name originated, was very special. I'm now an honorary citizen of Licciana Nardi in Italy, which is where my great, great - maybe great - grandfather was from. "So it was a special day. Another home race." Piastri also won in Bahrain, home to McLaren's majority owners who revelled in his victory, and after Imola heads to Monaco where last year Ferrari's local hero Charles Leclerc jokingly claimed the Australian as an "adopted son". The Australian had joked on social media that he was searching the family tree for any possible Monegasque roots he could claim. Silverstone in July is McLaren's home race while Monza hosts Italy's main grand prix in September. Piastri arrived at Imola with a 16-point lead over teammate Lando Norris after four wins in the last five races including the last three in a row with Miami the latest two weeks ago. Champions McLaren have won five of the six and are favourites again for Sunday's race. "We've got very soft tyres this weekend, so maybe that will help us. But it's a lot cooler than it was in Miami. The track is also incredibly different – much bumpier, much higher speeds in general," said Piastri. "I expect the competition to be closer than it was in Miami". 2025 F1 Miami Grand Prix results: Oscar Piastri wins 3rd in a row over Lando Norris, George Russell
Oscar Piastri won his third race in a row on Sunday, taking the Miami Grand Prix over McLaren teammate Lando Norris and the gap to Mercedes' George Russell in third was more than 35 seconds. Piastri is first McLaren driver to win three on the trot since Mika Häkkinen in 1997 and now leads the world drivers' championship by 17 points over Norris. Norris started outside the first row alongside pole-sitter Max Verstappen and tried to get past into Turn 2 on the opening lap after the Dutchman ran wide out of the first turn. Norris left the track to avoid hitting Verstappen and lost four spots in the process. Race stewards quickly deemed it unworthy of further investigation. It took 14 laps for Piastri, who started fourth, to run down Verstappen for a lead he wouldn't relinquish, rapidly opening an eight-second gap. Four laps after that, Norris got past Verstappen for second. As if they weren't dominant enough, fortune smiled on the McLaren duo as it was able to pull off essentially a free set of pit stops, double-stacking during a brief virtual safety car on Lap 30. 1. Oliver Bearman, (87), Haas-Ferrari For the second consecutive Miami Grand Prix weekend, McLaren's Lando Norris is the beneficiary of a timely safety car. After claiming his maiden F1 win in last year's Miami Grand Prix due to a lucky caution, Norris won this year's wild sprint race with another lucky break. While sprint races don't typically feature pit stops due to the shorter distance, rain forced the teams to start the event on wet-weather tires but rapidly drying track conditions forced them to switch to the slicks. As pit stops were cycling through on Lap 15, Oscar Piastri held a slight lead over teammate Norris, meaning he got to pit first. That seemed like a disadvantage to Norris at the time, but as he was ducking into the pit lane, Liam Lawson plowed into Fernando Alonso. That sent the Spaniard into the wall, disabling the vehicle and bringing out the safety car. LAP 15/18⚠️ SAFETY CAR ⚠️Fernando Alonso has crashed and the Safety Car is deployed. Alonso is out of the car#F1 #F1Sprint #MiamiGP — Formula 1 (@F1) May 3, 2025 Norris beat Piastri to the timing line and since the race ended under the safety car, he couldn't be passed. Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda was the first to make the jump to slicks on Lap 11 of the 18-lap event, followed shortly by Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and Williams' Carlos Sainz. The run was on from there, as nearly every car in the field pitted – the only ones that didn't just did not have the opportunity before the safety car. Red Bull's Max Verstappen earned a 10-second time penalty for unsafe release after he barreled into Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli in the pit lane. Antonelli started the Sprint on pole – the youngest man ever to do so in F1 – but surrendered the lead to Piastri in the first corner after rain delayed the start by about 30 minutes. Charles Leclerc did not get to take part in the sprint race as he lost control of his Ferrari on the formation lap and smacked the wall. Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli will start the Miami Grand Prix Sprint from pole position after setting a blistering lap of 1:26.482 at the Miami International Autodrome on Friday evening. Antonelli usurped the provisional pole lap set by Red Bull's Max Verstappen (1:26.737). Before the third sprint qualifying session ended, the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris slotted in between Antonelli and Verstappen. "Was a very intense qualifying,' Antonelli told the broadcast. 'I felt really good since this morning and I felt good going into qualifying. I put everything together, so really happy to get the first pole. "Tomorrow will be nice to start on the front row, will be a bit of a different feeling." At 18 years old, Antonelli is the youngest pole-sitter in any qualifying format in F1 history, beating the previous record held by Sebastian Vettel by more than two years. The Sky Sports broadcast pointed out an interesting piece of trivia: On the day Antonelli was born — Aug. 25, 2006 — Vettel made his first appearance in an F1 car. From there, all Vettel did was become the youngest F1 world champion in 2010, the first of four on the trot. Miami Grand Prix Sprint starting grid 1. Kimi Antonelli (12), Mercedes2. Following a single practice session early Friday, teams will have an abbreviated 44-minute, three-round knockout qualifying session similar to the traditional 60-minute, three-round format. That will set the grid for a roughly 100-kilometer (1/3 grand prix distance) Sprint race that takes place early Saturday. There is no mandatory pit stop to change tire compounds — tire wear isn't an issue with the shorter distance — and championship points are awarded for the top eight finishers of the sprint in descending order (eight points for the win, seven for second place, six for third, etc.). The teams return later Saturday for the usual grand prix qualifying session that sets the grid for Sunday's main event. Miami marks the first Sprint weekend of the season, with the remaining rounds consisting of Belgium (July 25-27), United States at Austin (Oct. 17-19), Sao Paulo (Nov. 7-9) and Qatar (Nov. 28-30).
