New vice president elected for FAPCCI

Visakhapatnam: Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) announced Cherukumalli Kishore Kumar as its vice president for the year 2025-26. Kishore Kumar is the managing director of Sandy Bay Sea Foods Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between India and Thailand, and a 2-star export house. He held several key positions in trade associations, including vice chairman of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Ministry of Commerce. He also served as president of the Crab Meat Processors Association of India and vice president of the Seafood Exporters Association of India, Andhra Pradesh region. Apart from his professional accomplishments, Kishore Kumar is a distinguished Rotarian and served as district governor and in various national and international roles. Rotary International honored him with the Service Above Self award. He is actively involved in social service and currently serves as the managing trustee of Cherukumalli Foundation, and trustee of Gouthami Eye Hospital, Age Care Foundation and India Humanity Foundation. After getting elected as FAPCCI's vice president, the members congratulated Mr. Kishore Kumar.

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), Visakhapatnam, hosted a meeting with Widya Parsaoran Gultom, Consul (Socio-Cultural), Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (Mumbai), on Friday. Kankatala Mallikharjuna Rao, president, FAPCCI, presided over the meeting. He deliberated the objectives such as strengthening trade, tourism, and investment linkages between Indonesia and Andhra Pradesh. Some of the key issues discussed in the meeting included Promotion of Indonesian Trade, Tourism & Investment (TTI). They discussed India–Indonesia bilateral collaborations between FAPCCI and Indonesian stakeholders in sectors such as marine products, agro-commodities, pharmaceuticals, tourism, education, and MSMEs. Direct airline facility, contacting other similar organisations for technology exchange and better rate negotiation with the western nations, supplying genuine units through the Counsel, were discussed. Mr. Gultom invited FAPCCI members to participate in the Tradexpo Indonesia 2025, scheduled from October 15 to 19 in Jakarta.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh has attracted Rs 9.2 lakh crore investments over the past 11 months, generating expectations of over 8.5 lakh new jobs, Industry Minister TG Bharath said on Tuesday. He was speaking at the first edition of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) Excellence Awards 2025 in Visakhapatnam. He credited the investment inflow to the pro-industry policies of the NDA government under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. 'We are prioritising investor confidence and working to resolve issues faced by industries,' he said. Highlighting recent policy measures, Bharath noted that AP now offers one of the most competitive industrial policy frameworks in the country. He urged business leaders to take advantage of various State incentives, and pointed to the Speed of Doing Business initiative as a key mechanism for facilitating faster approvals. Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat addressed the gathering, and encouraged industry leaders to identify challenges and contribute innovative solutions. 'Your ideas can help shape the future of industry in Andhra Pradesh,' he said. FAPCCI president Kankatala Mallikharjuna Rao spoke about the State's MSME policy and its benefits for the tourism sector. The event also featured presentation of excellence awards in 11 categories.

Visakhapatnam: Industries Minister TG Bharath announced that the TDP-led NDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has successfully regained the trust of national and global investors. Speaking at the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) Excellence Awards 2025 presentation ceremony held here on Tuesday, the Minister stated that in just one year, the government has secured investment proposals worth over Rs 9 lakh crore, marking a significant shift in investors' confidence. He emphasised that major corporate houses have reposed faith in Andhra Pradesh's leadership and vision. He also highlighted that tenders worth Rs 60,000 crore have been called for in Amaravati, signaling the government's clear intent to fast-track capital development. 'We are taking decisions at a brisk pace to foster ease and speed of doing business,' he informed. Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat called on industry leaders to partner with the state's economic development by not only pointing out bottlenecks but also suggesting solutions to address them. The MP announced that 15 key roads in Visakhapatnam are being upgraded at a cost of Rs 500 crore, improving the city's infrastructure backbone. On the much-anticipated Visakhapatnam Metro Project, he informed that the DPR is ready, and a double-decker metro has been proposed for the Rs 15,000 crore-project. Highlighting Andhra Pradesh's push towards digital governance, Sribharat said that over 300 government services are now being offered via WhatsApp, reducing the need for people to interface directly with the officials concerned. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government to collectively address challenges faced in the business ecosystem. FAPCCI president Kankatala Mallikharjuna Rao, former president Karunendra Jasti, CV Atchut Rao, among others, addressed the gathering. Recognising excellence in business and entrepreneurship, 11 awards were presented to leaders from across different sectors. It was the first-ever excellence awards hosted by the FAPCCI.

The investments are expected to generate over 8.5 lakh employment opportunities. Addressing the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) Excellence Awards 2025 as chief guest, Bharat emphasised the govt's industry-first approach. "Our focus is on restoring investor confidence and addressing the long-standing concerns of the industrial sector," he noted. Highlighting reforms, Bharat said Andhra Pradesh now has among the most competitive industrial policies in the country. He urged entrepreneurs to leverage state-provided incentives and cited the "Speed of Doing Business" initiative for expediting approvals. He also called on businesses to participate in the P4 (People-Public-Private Partnership) model for inclusive growth. These include a five-year 100% SGST exemption from the start of commercial production, full reimbursement of land conversion fees, and industrial tariffs for power bills. He assured that all reimbursements would be processed within six months. Awards were presented in 11 categories. Nekkanti Sea Foods Ltd, Visakhapatnam, was honoured for Excellence in Agri & Aqua Based Industries. Other winners are Ananda Enterprises (Export Performance – MSEs), Efftronics Systems (Product Innovation), and Ms. Annandi Suneetha (Outstanding Women Entrepreneur). Recognitions were also given to Steelon Call (Start-up), Divi's Laboratories (CSR), ITC – Agri Division (Employee Welfare), CCL Products (All Round Performance), Dalmia Cement (Green Energy), Aravind Industries (Rural Entrepreneurship), and Sarda Metals (Export – Large & Medium Enterprises).
