White House-donated Trump portrait quietly replaces unflattering one in Colorado Capitol
A presidential portrait with Donald Trump's approval now hangs in the Colorado Capitol after his complaints got a previous one of him taken down. Following Donald Trump's criticism of a prior portrait, a new image by Vanessa Horabuena now hangs in the Colorado Capitol. (AP Photo/Thomas Peipert)(AP) The new portrait by Tempe, Arizona, artist Vanessa Horabuena is a sterner, crisper image than Sarah Boardman's painting of Trump that had hung since 2019. Last spring, Trump posted on social media that Boardman 'must have lost her talent as she got older' and 'purposely distorted' him, criticisms the Colorado Springs artist denied. By the day after that, Boardman's painting was gone, put into museum storage. New Trump portrait replaces controversial painting in Denver Capitol The Horabuena portrait donated by the White House a month or so ago went up this week after a Thursday decision by Lois Court, a former state lawmaker who chairs the Capitol Building Advisory Committee that helps select artwork for the Capitol in downtown Denver. "There was a blank on the wall. It seemed inappropriate. We knew that the White House had sent us this replacement and it simply made sense to put it up,' Court said. The White House donated the Horabuena portrait a month or so ago, said Court. Horabuena is a 'Christian worship artist' who has done several other depictions of Trump as well as Abraham Lincoln, Mount Rushmore and Jesus Christ, according to her website. Trump's portrait finds a wall, but for how long? On Tuesday, the Colorado statehouse was sleepy with lawmakers out of session and no schoolchildren visiting the historic building. A smattering of tourists took photos of the new portrait. Horabuena did not return a phone message Tuesday seeking comment. 'Thank you to the Highly Talented Artist, Vanessa Horabuena, and the incredible people of Colorado,' Trump posted Tuesday on his social media platform, Truth Social. The advisory committee is considering whether to replace them with portraits of past governors to mark the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood next year.

Soccer Aid hosts apologise as Tyson Fury swears twice live on ITV
The boxing champ dropped the 'F Bomb' twice during the live show. Soccer Aid: Presenter apologises for Tyson Fury swearing Tyson Fury made a on air blunder just minutes into Soccer Aid as he swore twice, forcing the hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alex Scott to apologise. As the iconic charity event kicked off this evening, the hosts went into the dressing room as the England starting 11 was revealed. However, as managers Tyson Fury and Harry Redknapp stood in the centre of the dressing room by the iconic three lions emblem, Tyson told his team: "We are f***ing Spartans." As they headed back to the main studio, Alex Scott said: "We do apologise for the swearing. It's Tyson we don't know what's going to happen." And viewers watching at home found the blunder absolutely hilarious, with one writing on social media: "Tyson Fury swearing before half past 6 on a Sunday evening absolute gold #SoccerAid," whilst another added: "Tyson Fury just casually dropping the F bomb just before 6:30 #socceraid." "RIP Tyson Fury's Soccer Aid career Dropped the F Bomb at 18:24pm June 2025 to June 2025 #SoccerAid2025 #SoccerAid ," a third quipped, with a fourth adding: "All the kids having a little giggle after Tyson Fury pre game speech #SoccerAid ." Tyson's potty mouth became the butt of all the jokes at Soccer Aid this evening, only for him to swear once again when talking to host Alex Scott live in the dug out. Ahead of the match, Tyson said: "The prospect of leading my England team to victory this June fills me with just as much excitement as any heavyweight fight. Everyone knows that I am a huge Manchester United fan too, so it's even more special for me that the game is at Old Trafford this year, and I get to manage one of my heroes, Wayne Rooney." Wayne added: "I'm a big boxing fan, so to do it alongside Tyson Fury is fantastic. We have this in common - we'll both be taking it incredibly seriously. It's great to lace up the old boots again - and see some old friends." As well as actors, singers and comedians, football stars will also take to the pitch for another game as England goes head to head with the World XI. Soccer Aid has been running for over 20 years and has raised £100million overall. Other notable celebrities who will still participate in the match include football legends Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, and Paul Scholes, alongside renowned Lioness players Toni Duggan, Steph Houghton, and Jill Scott. Additionally, Steve Bartlett, Paddy McGuiness, Sam Quek, Dermot Kennedy, Tom Grennan, and Martin Compston will join the fray. International football sensation and Euro 2020 winner Leonardo Bonucci, as well as Nadia Nadim and dancer Gorka Marquez, will also take to the pitch. Sam Thompson was also supposed to be playing in the match but sadly had to withdraw due to injury. Despite not being able to participate in the match due to a calf injury sustained during his charity five-day challenge where he succeeded in raising over £1 million for Unicef, Sam has transitioned into a coaching role. He will continue to play a pivotal part in the Soccer Aid event. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

Soccer Aid forced to apologise as Tyson Fury drops F-bomb on live TV
Soccer Aid 2025 got off to a rather chaotic start thanks to Tyson Fury's potty mouth. The former professional boxer joins a lineup of major celebrities taking part in this year's event to raise money for UNICEF. Playing for England are the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Jill Scott, Jermain Defoe, Sir Mo Farah, and Steven Bartlett, with Paddy McGuinness in goal. They're facing off against World XI, which comprises Big Zuu, Dermot Kennedy, Tony Bellew, and Gorka Márquez, to name a few. Tyson, meanwhile, is on the management team for England alongside Wayne Rooney. An enthusiastic Manchester United fan, he has declared his pride to welcome England to Old Trafford for the game, which is his club's home ground. Although it seems all that excitement got the better of him ahead of kick-off. This led to presenters Alex Scott and Dermot O'Leary apologising to viewers, as the star dropped an F-bomb. Captured in the training room ahead of the teams taking to the pitch, Tyson gave England a motivational speech. During the talk, he told the players: 'We are f***ing Spartans.' Host Alex, 40, then told audiences at home: 'We do apologise for the swearing. 'It's Tyson; we don't know what's going to happen.' Plenty of viewers saw the funny side of things, with @TJ_DCFC then joking on X: 'Well that's Tyson Fury never being allowed back to Soccer Aid ever again'. 'Tyson Fury dropping the F Bomb at 6:30pm on a Sunday afternoon', wrote @Miss_Terreh, followed by a crying laughing emoji. @96_Mikeys blasted those complaining about his language, urging them to 'grow up', adding: 'God forbid Tyson Fury swearing on Soccer Aid, and people moaning and groaning already!' Fortunately, commentators Jason Manford and Sam Matterface also kept it light when they brought the incident back up later on. Before the players left the tunnel, comedian Jason quipped: 'They've taken the microphone off Tyson.' Sam added that while his earlier speech was 'explicit-laden,' Tyson had 'good intentions'. He also recalled Tyson's promise not to use his 'hands or feet' for the duration of the game while watching from the sidelines. But, as you might have guessed, Tyson went on to swear another time. Midway through the game, Alex checked in with him, asking whether England's strong performance thus far was down to his management. He laughed, saying he had merely been standing in the box, screaming, shouting, and 's**t like that'. Upon being announced as a Soccer Aid coach this year, Tyson said: 'ENGLAND MANAGER! Who would ever have thought it!? 'I have had some big fights in my career, and the prospect of leading my England team to victory this June fills me with just as much excitement as any heavyweight fight! 'Everyone knows that I am a huge Manchester United fan too, so it's even more special for me that the game is at Old Trafford this year—and I get to manage one of my heroes, Wayne Rooney! 'How can we lose!? The work UNICEF does all around the world is so special and so important. 'I really hope that you can come along and support us this summer.' Co-manager Rooney also plays in the match, having scored England's first goal this time. The pair were assisted in England's coaching journey by Harry Redknapp and actress Vicky McClure, while former goalkeeper David James acted as the goalkeeping coach. Joining them on the side of the pitch is Sam Thompson, who was due to play but was withdrawn due to injuries. The podcaster and reality star raised over £2million for UNICEF last week by running and cycling 260 miles in five days to transport the match ball from London to Manchester. His tearful Match Ball Mission saw him encounter various physical and mental obstacles along the way, with his legs ultimately left 'falling apart' and ruling him out of any pitch action this weekend.
