Fans of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gathered to witness the team's victory parade at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. But things went haywire after a while, resulting in a stampede. Anushka Sharma, who was a part of the victory lap with her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, has now reposted a statement shared by the team expressing their regret over the tragedy, which left 11 people dead and 47 injured. Virat's RCB won the IPL title earlier this week. Virat also shared the same note along with the caption, 'At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted 💔.' The official statement from the team read, 'We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team's arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us. RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extend our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program, and followed the guidance and advice of the local administration. We urge all our supporters to please stay safe.' Later in the evening, Virat shared a post for Anushka as he wrote that this win was 'far more special for her' as she is from Bengaluru. 'I've seen it for 18 years and she's seen it for 11. Suffered the same moments since 2014 and celebrated every close win and the madness of our supporters at the Chinnaswamy.
