NEOM McLAREN ON PODIUM AGAIN AS DS PENSKE FINISH ONE-TWO IN SHANGHAI ROUND 10
NEOM McLaren Formula E Team's Taylor Barnard has once again finished on a podium, having crossed the finish line of the 2025 Hankook Shanghai E-Prix in third place. Meanwhile, Maximilian Guenther headed home a maiden one-two for DS PENSKE, as teammate Jean-Éric Vergne sliced by two cars on the last lap to seal the deal in the Round 10 race. Barnard had led, having sliced by the front-runners through the final chicane and away from the pack to the tune of almost two seconds on Lap 21 of 29. Oliver Rowland (Nissan), who currently leads the FIA Drivers' World Championship standings, had a lap's worth of that 50kW, four-wheel-drive ATTACK MODE boost over Barnard and made it by late on, but Guenther himself had 30 seconds over Rowland – enough for what was ultimately the race-winning move over the start-finish line on Lap 26. Barnard produced a storming move around the outside of Rowland to switch back up the inside of the Nissan a turn later at the chicane on Lap 27 for what looked like second spot, but late pressure from Dan Ticktum (CUPRA KIRO) opened the door to Vergne. The double champion produced his own wizardry to jump by Barnard and Ticktum for second at the flag and a first podium of Season 11, leaving that pair third and fourth respectively. Rowland finished fifth, just ahead of Nissan teammate Norman Nato, after being shuffled out of the podium spots late on. All that leaves Rowland maintaining his lead at the top with 171 points, with Barnard now second in the Drivers' standings (85 points), just ahead of TAG Heuer Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein (84 points). Nissan still heads both the FIA Teams' World Championship and FIA Manufacturers' World Championship tables, with Porsche in second place. NEOM McLaren are fourth in the Teams' Championship with 112 points. Taylor Barnard, No. 5, NEOM McLaren Formula E Team said: 'Honestly, my main emotion is that I'm a bit confused! I was sitting at the back for a very long time; I was quite good on energy but I didn't understand how the race was playing out. The team did a great job with the strategy because I came out of the pit lane in sixth so I thought, 'now I can fight!', but I need to look at the race after to understand a little bit better what's actually happened. I was really struggling with energy on the last couple of laps so I did my best in the last few corners. I'm super happy to get another podium, another 15 points in the bag.' Round 11 on Sunday, 1 June gets underway with just one Free Practice, followed by qualifying and the race. Shanghai E-Prix 2025: DS celebrates double victory as Maximilian Gunther takes first, Jean-Eric Vergne second in Round 10, Taylor Barnard claims third

After securing pole position in qualifying, Gunther maintained his lead throughout the race to clinch his first victory of the season. However, it was his teammate Jean-Eric Vergne who surprised many with a remarkable performance. Starting 10th on the grid, Vergne fought his way up the field to finish second, securing a historic 1-2 finish for DS Penske—their first ever. NEOM McLaren's Taylor Barnard bounced back to form following a quiet spell. Not only did he set the fastest lap of the race, but he also secured the final spot on the podium with a strong third-place finish. Shanghai E-Prix Round 10 results This marks DS Penske's first-ever 1-2 finish in Formula E, and Maximilian Gunther's first win of the season. While Gunther started from pole, Taylor Barnard had lined up second on the grid. Behind him were the two Nissan drivers: Rowland in fifth and Norman Nato in sixth. NEOM McLaren's Sam Bird secured seventh, while Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries came home in eighth. Envision Racing's Sebastien Buemi and Robin Frijns rounded out the top ten. Tag Heuer Porsche's Antonio Felix da Costa, who had topped the first free practice session on Friday, couldn't carry that form into race day. After qualifying 17th, he managed only a 13th-place finish in the final race. Oliver Rowland of Nissan Formula E Team achieved his first victory on the iconic Monaco street circuit, marking his third win in the initial six races of the 2024/25 season. This impressive performance translates to a 50% win rate and has further extended his lead in the FIA Drivers' World Championship standings to a significant 34 points over reigning champion Wehrlein, who finished sixth in this race and now has 60 points. Rowland currently holds 94 points. A key factor in Rowland's success was the strategic deployment of PIT BOOST by Nissan, allowing him to overtake polesitter Taylor Barnard (NEOM McLaren Formula E Team) on Lap 13. Despite briefly losing the lead to Nyck de Vries (Mahindra Racing) on Lap 26, Rowland masterfully utilised his final ATTACK MODE on Lap 27 to reclaim the lead, ultimately winning the race by a comfortable two-second margin. Behind Rowland, the Andretti team experienced mixed fortunes. Dennis received a five-second penalty, impacting his final position and dropping him to third. His teammate Nico Mueller initially finished fourth but was then overtaken at the finish line by Eduardo Mortara (Mahindra Racing), placing Mueller in fifth. Nyck de Vries' second-place finish marked his first podium since London 2022, and his Mahindra team's first podium since Mexico City 2023. In the FIA Teams' World Championship standings, Porsche leads Nissan by nine points (114 to 105), while Nissan leads Porsche in the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship standings. Oliver Rowland, No. 23, Nissan Formula E Team said: 'You never know what to do with the strategy especially with these PIT BOOST races – it's the second race but we kind of had a plan and we stuck to it. It was a bit trickier to pass Taylor [Barnard] to be honest, but we kept calm – even at the end I was pretty worried during that second ATTACK MODE: I dropped back to fifth and I was behind two Mahindras, and I was like 'right now we need to get cracking', but great job by the team and very well executed. 'I was thinking Taylor was pushing the barriers of the rules at some points, but fair play to him – in the end we got the job done so it doesn't really matter. We've started the season really well, but it feels a bit different now. Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but you've already got one eye on tomorrow.' The 2025 Monaco E-Prix marks the first time the Principality is hosting a double-header event, with Round 7 scheduled for Sunday May 4th. WEHRLEIN WINS MIAMI E-PRIX AFTER LATE PENALTIES THAT COST BOTH NEOM MCLAREN DRIVERS

Lucas di Grassi secured second, earning Lola Yamaha ABT's first podium, while da Costa finished third. Numerous drivers, including polesitter Norman Nato and both NEOM McLaren Formula E Team drivers, were penalised for failing to utilise their mandatory ATTACK MODE due to the race's interrupted conclusion. The race featured multiple lead changes, a Safety Car period and a dramatic three-car crash, culminating in a frenetic five-lap sprint to the finish. Andretti Formula E's Nico Mueller, Edoardo Mortara of Mahindra Racing and polesitter Nato completed the top six, respectively. Prior to the red-flag incident, both NEOM McLaren drivers ran an incredible race. Notably, Sam Bird made up 14 places and crossed the finish line in fifth while Taylor Barnard finished in eighth from his 11th place start. However, because neither driver used their mandatory ATTACK MODE before the red flag forced an early race finish, Bird and Barnard were each hit with a 10-second penalty resulting in them dropping to 18th and 20th place respectively. The Miami E-Prix result more than doubles Wehrlein's points score for the season, moving him to third in the FIA Drivers' World Championship behind da Costa and Oliver Rowland – despite the Brit's non-score. TAG Heuer Porsche leads Nissan 105 points to 79 in the FIA Teams' World Championship standings, with NEOM McLaren Formula E Team sitting in third with 67 points. Nissan leads Porsche in the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship 144 points to 120.
